EDIT - If you want to endorse a specific team, we will have a way to do that. Note that the intent is not for you to solicit recommendations for your team.

EDIT - The video option is if you have match play or other video you want to link to, so the selection committee can see you in action.

Release the hounds!

Darn, website blocked at school :yikes:

Darn, letting someone else handle applying…trying to resist the urge to apply…must let others take ownership…resistance is futile!

Is it sad that I’ve put IRI on my bucket list? Maybe next season our robot will be ready

Come without the robot! Spectate! Volunteer! Hang out at the premiere robotics tournament in the world! (Einstein was the beta test for IRI)

I’d be tempted to volunteer if I could find the funding to do so. Hmmm - I can chalk it up to preparing for the Red Stick Rumble.

I second that. I volunteered last year for the first time; thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

I wonder, will the process include recommendations as it did last year?

Hello, I am from team 2531 and we wish to register for IRI but we are confused by what you mean by the team video in the application form?

This was really neat last year.

So excited!

I’d like to know this as well!

Depending on what role you choose as a volunteer, you may or may not have a chance to spectate the event. Field Reset will probably get you the best opportunity to spectate since you will be by the field and idle during the matches (except for the occasional chasing down of frisbees and re-entering them onto the field). Refereeing (my favorite volunteer position) will make you an active spectator, but you might miss 3/4 of the action because you need to be watching your quadrant of the field. Whether you get to spectate or not, volunteering is always fun and I highly recommend volunteering at IRI.

I believe what they are looking for in that section is video of how your robot performs. Either video from your competition or video that you took testing your robot out. If you are going to use a competition, I’d recommend using one where you performed very well, not necessarily just one where you won.

Not sad, exciting. It has the feel of a small regional (really a lot like one of our MAR districts) but with a competition level like St Louis. And, it is a great place to meet some really cool people.

See EDITS to answer the questions -

Should we just email in our endorsements to [email protected]?

What exactly are you looking for under the “What was your best performance this year?” category? Are you looking for a specific match, a small subset of matches or the event where we think we had the best performance?

best overall event performance.

How should endorsements be sent?
