I figured since this thread was nice last year, I’d do something similar, but keep it in a google doc so that it’s easy to update throughout the season.
It probably seems a bit early, but I think it’ll be cool to see the list of teams evolve and change over the course of the next six weeks of competitions. It’ll be especially interesting to see the changes from when teams submit and win from the last few years, given the new multiple submissions rules.
Lastly, congratulations to all the teams who have won the Chairman’s Award this year, and all those who will win! We’re in for one of the most competitive Chairman’s season yet, and it’s going to be a fun ride.
Congratulations to 1939, Kuh-nig-its and 3476, Code Orange on your first Regional Chairman’s Awards! You’re both great teams and it’s excellent to see you get the recognition you deserve.
Also, congratulations to 2522, Royal Robotics on their first District Chairman’s Award-- good luck at the PNW Championships!
A special note of congratulations to Team 27, RUSH, who is now in the history books as the first District team to win a Chairman’s Award outside of their District area. It was a pleasure competing with you guys this weekend, and I hope for the best as you guys go to St. Louis for the 12th year running. I personally hope you guys bring back the CCA soon-- you deserve it.
I’ll be updating again tomorrow with the results of the events going into Sunday. As always, if you have any fun facts or statistics about this year’s Chairman’s Award winners, feel free to post them and I’ll add them. Also, if anyone has the data from UNH District event, please post it-- I’m missing the winner from that event.
We won here in Oregon City today. I am so proud of all of our students. They really make us mentors proud and we are so happy to be a part of a great team.
I’d love to see the odds not only on a second year team winning chairman’s, but doubling up with 2 banners at a single event. I’m rather curious if 4488 is the first to do this.
1676 is already on the sheet under 3 DCA-- when/if you win at MAR Champs, your team will be added as 3 RCA, which for the purposes of this sheet (to try to organize both DCA and RCA winners), is defined as a Chairman’s Award that qualifies your team for Championships.
FIRST Team 78 AIR Strike took home the Chairman’s Award from the Groton District Event this evening and is now qualified for the New England FRC Region Championship in Boston, MA. GOOOOO NAVY!
