Does anyone have the Hawaii Regional streaming videos available? I would love to look over some of our matches, especially the semi finals.
Though I missed a lot of the tournament since I am the “pit boss” and would like to watch them all…
We have Friday and our own Saturday morning matches and all Eliminations (from what I’ve been told). Our video person was ill on Saturday and came in after lunchtime. No guarantees as to when we’ll be able to get them all up with San Jose coming up for us.
Oh, and I guess this would be a good place to say that 368 gives many thanks to our alliance partners 359 and 2444! We’re happy that we could help 359 with their trifecta (Northern Lights/Dallas/Hawaii) and elated that we could get 2444 into their first elimination matches ever (and on to St. Louis, too!). For those who doubted our selection, we knew what we were doing. So many teams out there were just awesome that it’s a shame there’s only one regional in Hawaii for most teams to show what they can do.
Thanks also to the teams from Australia, Singapore, China, and Taiwan for making this a truly Pacific Rim event.
Safe travels to MORT Team 11 as they make their way back to cooler climes with their Chairman’s Award and memories to hopefully keep them warm.
And special thanks to all of the volunteers without whom we would not be able to have this wonderful event!
Sounds good, I did send an email to you just a moment ago. I didn’t think you would be conscious yet after such a crazy weekend :yikes:
Good luck in San Jose, you will do well I am sure…
And I should do the same… Thanks to team captain 2853 and our alliance partner 3881.
It was a real blast to watch the event from the pits, sadly the sound is horrible but the video was great!
And none of this is possible without all the volunteers… You guys rocked it… Mahalo!
Thanks again for the selection.
We were the true 1 seed the previous past 5 FRC regional events in 2012 and 2013. This year, we were the 1 selection in all 3 FRC regional events. We are grateful that you folks chose us…like good ole times (359-368). ie. 2000, 2003, 2008, 2010, 2011 and now 2014.
Making an FRC regional finals is always the most exciting part of a tournament. We hope to continue the streak (15 in a row) in 2015 in Australia. I do hope you join us.
Cool. There were quite a few very interesting matches there, and it would be awesome to watch em again.
To teams 3880, 3881, and 2853, you guys’ sportsmanship after our quarterfinals match really blew me away. Every one of your team members I saw shook our hands and congratulated us on a great round. I have to say a huge thank you for that, for that is something I rarely see from teams.
And to 368, 359, and 2444, you guys looked strong from the very beginning, and you guys clearly had the best alliance there. Good luck to you guys in all future events, especially nationals. Hope to see ya there!
And last but definitely not least, this is the time to shoot out a thanks to our alliance partners, 4158 and 3721. You guys were great to work with, and we fought hard against an extremely impressive seventh alliance.
Thank you to everyone who was at the event and helped out with the event for a fantastic experience at the regional!
You and me both…I was in our pit, which was at the back of the venue (or front depending on your view) and the arena exploded in cheers on the buzzer shot. Was deafening. Just unfortunate some assists were missed and other such things. Coming off the field with bailing wire and zip tie repaired pickup was epic… Left it all on the field. I am very impressed with what the students were able to accomplish…
We be bringing a new and even more bulletproof ball pick up to championships. The 1/8" thick aluminum did outstanding, the welds not so much. The student who welded it was blown away.
I hope one day to form a Island Alliance on Einstein… Imua Waialua!
I will be sure to pass that on to my students… Your team was a dream to compete with. You were very deserving of the Chairman’s Award. Hope to see you out here more often, and bring your friends!! We can plan ahead and take you on a Big Island tour… Hopefully next year we will be on that side of the mainland. We initially were trying for NY and VA this year. Sadly funding wasn’t timely enough and they filled up. I will try to stop by and “talk story” at the championships. Your team looked, acted, and were truly gracious professional. Thank you.
Where to even begin… First, Thanks to everyone involved in the Hawaii Regional, it was a very exciting(albeit exhausting) event, that we really enjoyed. Thank you to our alliance partners 2443 and 2348. Wish we could have stayed healthy for one more round, it was a blast playing with you both and i would have loved to have played a full on match against such an amazing alliance as 368, 359 and 2444. CONGRATULATIONS to 11, 359, 368, 2443, 2444 and 3880 on their advancement to World Championships in St. Louis!! We will be cheering you all on. And finally to the members of 2090, congrats on a great job. I couldn’t be more proud of you!! Thank YOU most of all for a wonderful year!!
p.s. Loved those Team 11 MORT aloha shirts!! Hope you had a great trip here and a safe journey home!!
I agree it was such a tremendous event. Gets better and more competitive every year.
Like Glenn said, everyone in Hawaii is stepping it up, making it one of the most competitive regional events that FRC has.
**Congratulations go out to all the teams!! All of you rocked. Love living Hawaii…
**
Everyone I worked with or spoke to in the pits were really awesome. Thanks to everyone that attempted to help solve out teleop code that froze us for 4 matches. You know I am talking to you, Australia! It sure made making it to eliminations surprising.
MORT - Ok you have to share where the shirts came from… Those were really great. At first glance I thought you were a Hawaiian team, just the lack of a tan and accent gave you away… :ahh:
It was definitely an awesome and amazing regional. The matches were great and I had such a fun time.
Congrats to 359, 368 and 2444, you guys earned your win. And congrats to 11 on winning chairman’s. All of you had fantastic robots!
Also, thanks to teams 2437 and 1378 for being great alliance partners!
Can’t wait for next year’s regional! Gotta make my final one as a student a memorable one!
PS. I believe one of our scouts recorded our matches. I’ll try and post them to youtube and send a link
Now that we’re back from SVR, beginning to upload all matches here:
It will take some time. Began with the eliminations and then will get to qualifications. Also uploading SVR videos at the same time so give it a few days for all of them to get posted.
Thank you for posting the videos and congratulations on another great run at SVR!! You guys are looking awesome and we look forward to seeing more at Worlds.
Well done at SVR!! I just am amazed at your driving ability and robot. I look forward to stopping by your pit and finally getting a chance to see your robot up close and in person.
Thanks for taking the time to upload and letting us know about them.
Congrats again on the Volunteer of the Year!!
You deserve it with all the hard work you do with educational robotics.
We have uploaded 74 videos total. Unfortunately, our videographer took ill Saturday morning so only qualification matches we were in on Saturday morning were recorded. All elimination matches were recorded and were posted earlier.
Mahalo for posting all of the videos! I just found all of our matches and made a playlist for our team to reminisce over. Great performance at SVR! Tough luck in the finals. Looking forward to following you and the rest of the Hawaii contingent at the championship.
I was a judge at the Hawaii State Science Fair and I met your driver. After judging his project (which was well done and well received by the judges) I picked his brain about your robot. Impressive student! I can see why he’s such a great driver.
