FRC3005 doesn’t quite have the travel budget this year to do two regionals like we would prefer, but 5 of our mentors will be attending Hub City (about to leave in an hour) as volunteers.
Between the 5 of us, we’ll be representing as a Chairman’s Judge, Robot Inspector, Field Tech Adviser Assistant, Field Ref, and Controls System Adviser.
Look forward to seeing as many of you as we can out there! We’re certainly looking forward to it.
2468 is running the webcast, but they require a live line.
The regional is putting on their own webcast.
Either way I think there will be a webcast. I just hope it’s better than last year’s iPhone webcast.
(The only reason they even had that much was thanks to a student on team 1986)
It is a little of both with the support of Code Red. 2468 is working with Hub City Tournament officials and Code Red to bring everyone the webcast of the event.
**Random Facts about Hub City:
**
2nd year as a regional
New Regional Director this year
This will be the 1st event with Chinese visitors to Texas
1st Texas event without a 10+ year Texas Veteran
The scores will be low and defense will be heavy.
It will be interesting to see how the Chinese rookies perform.
The Chinese teams have traveled a long way and paid a significant amount of money which usually translates to great robot preparation.
Team 4301 checkin in! This regional doesn’t seem to have too many advanced teams (our team isn’t super advanced, but we’ve got our stuff together!), so in all I actually think this regional is going to be very interesting! We look forward to both fighting and working with everyone!
2914 is here and enjoying making new friends out here in Texas. Spent the day getting mechanical things sorted, but our cameras are calibrated, drive train is locked in and we are ready to rock tomorrow morning.
Congratulations to the champions, 1817, 2468, and 5320! You all were a blast to watch and to compete with! It was fun being in Texas again, but we’re headed out tomorrow morning to our Michigan weather. Supposed to be near freezing by the time we reach Rochester Hills.
Team 4063, TRikzR4kiDz, would like to thank Team 4153, Project Y, for picking us and Team 1801, The Dapper Dans to create a powerful #7 alliance. We had a great run, knocking of the #2 and #3 alliances before falling to the #1 alliance (1817, 2468, 5320). Congratulations to the Llano Estacado RoboRaiders, Team Appreciate and the Cyber Hornets for winning the Hub City Regional. Team 4063 would also like to thank the judges, we can home with a quite a bit of hardware…
