2014 IRI Trophy

Here is a lovely pic of the 2014 IRI trophy. This year’s trophy was designed by AndyMark application engineer Liz Smith and intern Rachel Baker.

You can tell them what you think about this trophy this weekend at IRI, as Liz will be the lead FTA and Rachel will be helping teams queue.

These are absolutely awesome!

I know it’s perhaps not cost effective for FIRST to do cool trophies like this but all the nicely designed off-season trophies make the FRC trophies look really boring.

Will there be one for the auction table?

Yep. Also, I am sure that Liz and Rachel would be willing to sign autographs on their artwork.

Credit should also be given to Colors, Inc. who provided the anodization for the gold truss and blue base with graphics. Colors, Inc., under the leadership of David Hancock, has been making the IRI trophies look pretty for many years, and they also make many of the Indy-area FRC teams’ robots look beautiful.

Looking good!

I like the added touch of the spacers from KOP drive train.

Funny you should say that, Rachel Baker was also responsible for naming the product that they’re made from - the Churro.

I want one.

I never noticed that if you turn Indiana sideways, it looks kinda like Washington state.

And if you turn it upside down, it looks kind of like a Mini-sota

Montana, too.

If you close your eyes and pretend that it’s mitten-shaped it looks like Michigan

Only kind of …

I always thought it looked like a McDonald’s Chicken Nugget
