You bring up an excellent point. I will honestly say I will be a little disappointed if something crazy doesn’t happen in NYC this year.
That being said, I’ll be honestly disappointed if on practice day there are people still trying to put together their robots, barring some sort of emergency like the Javitz Center’s roof collapsed onto your robot (hopefully not but it wouldn’t surprise me the least)
I think that will still happen. It will still be the first regional for some teams. And given the robot is in a bag for until then, teams can’t fix problems even if they know what to do.
I do expect teams will resolve problems faster though. And that more teams will be able to help them get up and running.
Teams: Don’t miss the opportunity to honor your mentors, teachers & coaches on the big screen at the NYC Regional. Mentor slide deadline has been extended to March 14th Pi Day:
FIRST Students, Family & Friends are invited to volunteer at the NYC FIRST Robotics Competition April 3-6th.
Our most pressing need for help is on Thursday 4/3 (set-up), Friday 4/4, and Sunday 4/6. Sign up, come out, and have a great time helping students experience the fun and excitement of science, engineering and gracious professionalism!
Cherrie, I signed up to volunteer Friday-Sunday around a week or two ago and still haven’t heard back. Do you know when the emails are going out about volunteer positions?
Becca & Anyone else who volunteered & hasn’t received a role assignment for April 3, 4, 5, 6. Please send me a note with your contact info at straussmcs@hotmail.com & I’ll follow up with the NYC Volunteer Coordinator. We still need help, especially from Alumni!
