Were the results ever released for the animation competition that you held last year?
Also wondering if there is a way to be on an email list, etc. for changes that come out. I didn’t re-check the website after the challenge was posted last year and only found out about the time extension when I was trying to upload our animation. If email list isn’t possible, could you designate someone to update Chief Delphi?
Thanks,
Link appears to be down/broken.
Anyone have an update or a contact?
Our Animation Captain is still having difficulties registering successfully to the Chief Delphi forums, so I apologize for the delayed responses.
An email list for signed-up participants is a good idea and we’ll see about setting one up. We definitely should be updating Chief Delphi forum posts on a frequent basis, and in addition to the Animation Captain, we’ll see about ensuring other Animation members have a functional Chief Delphi account.
We also unexpectedly had our many-year-registered domain expire earlier this month, and are dealing with that separately, but that is why the URL does not go anywhere at the moment.
I believe the winners were posted on our website (cannot access at the moment unfortunately). They should have also been announced on Chief Delphi, but I’m not sure that ever happened.
Our multi-year-registered domain expired unexpectedly this month, so the person managing that is attempting to resolve things with the registrar company. We’re really trying to get things resolved before the new year.
Team116’s domain issues are finally resolved, so all of its website pages are accessible again, including the 2015 Animation Competition page.
Assuming our team hasn’t missed the opportunity by being unresponsive, there has been a potential offer by a mid-sized company to provide the animation award prize. Stay tuned.
Thanks for the update.
There is an animation section on the forums and if you would post there, it may not get lost with all the other posts that will show up with the new build season.
Still interested to know who won last year. When you first announced that your team would be hosting it again this year, I looked on the website. It had last year’s information, but didn’t see anything mentioned about the winners. It would be nice to give them some recognition.
Team 166 is looking forward to learning the results from the competition last year, and seeing a new animation competition this year!
Way too long in coming, but the Animation Competition Award Winners for 2014 were:
Technical Excellence Animation Award Winner: Team 250
Creative Excellence Animation Award Winner: Team 20
This information has also been updated on the 2014 Animation Competition Page.
For those waiting on the Animation Competition details, information about major changes will be out very soon.
Thank you for everyone’s patience! We are happy to announce the new USA Animation Award which is now presented in partnership with AutomationDirect! Make sure to read the new rules posted under our 2015 Animation Competition Page. Good luck to all the teams and make sure to contact us with any questions you have at our animation email.
This year, AutomationDirect is supplying prizes for the winners so make sure to check out the rules for more "]email.
Hopefully the animation team members are still reading Chief Delphi, or their teammates are letting them know that this year they have a HUGE chance of helping out their larger team in the following season.
In case most teams didn’t follow the link to the 2015 Animation Competition details yet, this year there are 3 big winners, with 5 honorable mentions for a combined total of $2000 worth of store credit at AutomationDirect.com waiting to be won!
Technical Award: $1000 store credit for use at AutomationDirect.com
Creative Award: $500 store credit for use at AutomationDirect.com
Judges Award: $250 store credit for use at AutomationDirect.com
Honorable Mentions (5): $50 store credit for use at AutomationDirect.com
Videos are due April 4th, so plenty of time to create your team’s rendition of “A bug starts a chain of events that eventually leads to the robot uprising.”
