I’ve done my search and I can’t seem to find a list of teams that qualified for Championships based on Wild Card, or what possible Wild Cards are out there for the Remaining Competitions
I know all the info is out there, I just don’t have the time :ahh: to gather, compile and validate all the data in the time remaining in the season .
Week 4: 3683 and 1334 from 1114 and 2056’s second win of the season (5406 was passed as captain due to winning RAS. 2056’s chairman’s and 1241’s EI after winning chairman’s resulted in unused wildcards).
From GKC week 3, 1806 and 1777 from 1710’s RCA and 2014 CMP EI (would have gone to us but we won EI at GKC so it passed on down)
From Colorado week 5, 5318 from 1619’s Utah win. 1723 qualified from winning GKC and 4499 won RCA
You can probably just use Ed Law’s spreadsheet and create a query… If time permitted that is… I know for Lone Star the following teams have already qualified which might generate some wild cards…
Las Vegas, Week 5: 148 & 987 generated 2 that would have gone to 60 & 3309. 60 earned Engineering Inspiration so theirs went to the 3rd partner, 4322. All bots on the field in the Finals qualified.
Oklahoma had 1775 and 3507. Oddly enough 1775’s wild card was created in part because of 1806 getting a wildcard at GKC. 3507’s was generated when 932 won the regional and chairman’s.
Finger Lakes saw 5254 and 174 receive Wildcards due to 3015 and 4039 earning EI and Chairmans respectively.
I was ecstatic when they announced 3015’s EI because 5254 has an incredible robot and program that deserve to go to champs.
Adding onto this, the teams that qualified via wild card:
2085 (Card generated by 118 for winning Dallas @ Sac)
3250 (Card generated by HOF 359 @ Inland Empire)
Also, 568 received a wild card previously held by 701 (card generated by HOF 254 @ Central Valley and a second card generated by 1678 for winning Central Valley @ Sac), and the card was passed onto 568 @ Sac.
Inland Empire: 3250 and 5136 (359 as 1st alliance 1st pick is a HOF team, 3562 as 1st alliance 2nd pick won Chairman’s, and 3476 as 2nd alliance 1st pick won EI)
CVR: 701 (254 as 1st alliance 1st pick is a HOF team and won champs last year)
Sacramento: 2085 and 568 (118 as 1st alliance captain won Dallas, 1678 as 1st alliance 1st pick won CVR, 5458 as 1st alliance 2nd pick won RAS (also since 701 had qualified at CVR there was an unused wildcard))
Ventura: 3512 and 4201 (330 as 1st alliance captain won LA, 1717 as 1st alliance 1st pick won EI)
If I counted correctly, there weren’t any wildcards created at LA. I also never realized until now that every single 1st alliance in California so far has won the regional.
For completeness, these are the teams at the remaining two CA events that have already qualified and who could create wildcards: SVR: 8 teams (254 (HOF, champs, CVR), 368 (Hawaii), 604 (CVR Chairman’s), 1678 (CVR, Sacramento), 1700 (AZ East EI), 1868 (Alamo Chairman’s), 2085 (Sacramento wildcard), and 3880 (Hawaii).
San Diego: 4 teams (399 (Ventura Chairman’s), 1538 (HOF), 1572 (Inland Empire), and 3476 (Inland Empire EI))
I must admit that it was really cool seeing the look on your team’s faces when it was announced that you were a wild card team. I’m thinking that was one of those REALLY unexpected things that happened at the event.
Thanks everyone who has commented. Based on what I have read, the answer to my original question, Is there a list of wild card already compiled? is a resounding no. So hopefully in the next 24-48 hours I’ll take all available information and make a list of who has qualified and who and where any of those teams are competing, thus where are there possible wild cards. I know Lonestar does already have a nice base line listed.
First off I want to thank Ed Law for his data. That provided me with all the “Winners”. I then added the Chairmans Award from the list also found on CD (Sorry I forget who posted it). I pulled the EI and RAS winners from the awards pages from FIRST. The disclaimer is **“THIS LIST IS NOT 100%” complete **
I DID NOT INCLUDE DISTRICT DATA.
Only counting REGIONALS, there are **255 **teams which **I found **qualified for CHAMPIONSHIPS. Next I compiled a list of who’s playing, again only REGIONALS, and came up with 621 teams this weekend. :ahh: Wow you’re all saying, that many teams playing in week six :ahh: . One thing missing from this list is “Wild Card” recipients. I didn’t have time to go through and compare where a wild card would be given out and who would have received it. So the disclaimer is **“THIS LIST IS NOT 100%” ** sorry.
From all that, here is a quick list of who is already qualified and competing:
