Team 2052 KnightKrawler is excited to compete in the Carson division this year. There are a lotta good teams and I can’t wait until next week!

Team 1126 is looking forward to seeing you all on Carson!

Be sure to inform yourselves on our glorious leader.

There are some good teams on this field (233, 610, 2122, etc). Pretty deep! Eliminations are going to be very fun to watch.

Looks like a great division! Lots of good teams, I’m excited to see how the competition turns out! I’m looking forward to seeing and meeting you all in half a week!

Looking forward to see our good friends MORT 11 from the Hawaii regional last year, Northern Knights 296 from GTRE and an old face in Coconuts 2486 from 2014, our old alliance captain.

Looks like a pretty decent division!

Happy to see that 51 and 1918, our 2014 Archimedes alliance partners, are here with us again! Looks like a stellar division.

Carson subdivision is going to be fun! There’s a lot of teams my team hasn’t met before, so I’m glad that we’ll get the chance.

Shout out to team 6144 Angelbots Gold for us being the only two Texas teams in Carson  #Represent!

I would also like to say that I’ll be glad to see teams:
6025 Adroit Androids from Istanbul, Istanbul
5897 Apex Robotics from Calgary, Alberta
5879 Shadow of Orion from Beijing, Beijing
5663 Ground Control from Perth, Western Australia
1156 Under Control from Novo Hamburgo, Rio Grande do Sul
746 Gearheads from Torornto, Ontario
610 Crescent Robotics from Toronto, Ontario
and 296 Northern Knights from Montréal, Québec

Of course I’ll be glad to see all the teams, but one of the things I’ve always loved about FIRST is meeting teams from other countries.
I want to wish a good luck to everyone on Carson, and cheers to a great season!

The Cyborg Cats created a global sheet for all teams going to worlds. It is currently being updated on a per division basis. It is found here.

That’s a pretty impressive sheet! Is that what y’all plan on using for your scouting, or is that just to act as a database for numbers?

Interesting division, almost exclusively blockable low shooters. I expect to see a lot of easy defense here able to greatly affect match outcomes.

I’d take a closer look

I think there are many courtyard shooters IMO… that’s where the easy defense comes in when bots can push other bots around. Outerwork shooters will be highly valuable.

I can agree with you there. As the season has gone on, more and more teams have learned how to properly defend the courtyard. There are a lot of teams that can shoot really well and really consistently, but the fact that some of them are required to be in particular places, at particular distances can really change their match shot averages whilst against a good defender.

Never the less, this subdivision is gonna be fun for scouts!

Took another look, still mostly blockable teams.

Thanks!
Any practice match schedule?

Do they usually post the practice match schedules? I may just be blind or clueless(because that’s never out of the question), but I have never been able to find a physical list. It’s a little frustrating for the scout team, we just end up skipping practice matches and just focus on qualification matches.

I don’t think they do. They just hand the practice match schedule to your team Wednesday morning to my knowledge.

Okay, that would make more sense as to why I can never figure it out. Thanks!

135, 868 and 1024 are going to represent Indiana! This will be fun to watch!

It’s funny…the past few years, 135 has been in very Indiana-influential divisions. 2014, we were in Curie with 447, 1501, and 3301. Last year, we were with 234 and 5403 (taking seeds 2 and 3 together, and 5403 also made elims). Now 135 gets to play with 868 and 1024, which are again two of Indiana’s best.

Carson also has a pretty good international representation this year. There are several Canadian teams (more than usual, or do a lot usually make it?), as well as a team from Brazil, Turkey, Australia, and China.
