I’ve been waiting for information about the 2016 season NASA Rookie grant to become available for the past two months. My best googling brings me this information on the 2015 season grant:
http://frc-grants.arc.nasa.gov/rcs/directions.php
With last year’s deadline being in the beginning of October, I would think we should have heard some information about this by now. Is anyone else aware of what’s going on here and able to point me in the right direction?
Thanks!
Aren’t they normally available at the end of August/early September?
Okay, that would be more information than I had before. I did notice that the page stated on the bottom that it had been most recently updated on September 2, 2014. It’s quite possible that was the initial post date.
Hi folks!
The conclusion you’ve come to so far is correct, but I thought I’d verify it for you. I’ve applied for two NASA grants as a mentor and both times we had about a month to get everything together.
Specifically, here are the application opening/closing details from last season’s grant application:
Applications will be accepted between Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 12:00:00 Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) and Thursday, October 2, 2014, 23:59:59 PDT. Applications submitted after Thursday, October 2, 2014, 23:59:59 PDT will not be considered.
This is currently in the first set of bullets on the old 2015 grant page.
Don’t worry too much; it’s totally normal for them to not be open now. Do be aware though that if you’re waiting to get the grant before really getting your rookie team together, it can be a bit of a rush right at the end of the fall half of the year.
Best of luck with your team!
Hi all -
I’m a Rookie Mentor for a Rookie Team. I created an account on the NASA grant page for my team, starting working, and saved the progress, but now I am getting an error message stating that “My account has been suspended!” when I try to log in.
I’ve sent an email to the address provided on the application page, but I haven’t received a response for several days and now I’m getting concerned about completing the application on time.
Has anyone had a similar problem? Does anyone know of any other person who I could contact? The only phone number I could find is for NASA headquarters.
Thanks!
Tim
