The teams here in Columbia, SC, 4901 Garnet Squadron and 1293 The Pandamaniacs, are excited to be making the trip to Orlando.
Garnet Squadron had a lot of issues at Palmetto that we didn’t foresee due to little practice time before and after bag. Most of which have been solved completely and we’re ready to Sandstorm some towers with you all in the Sunshine state. We’re looking forward to the competitive and friendly environment Orlando has been for us in the past. As always I’m excited for the RoboShow, the best live coverage of an FRC event you can find.
Let us know how you are doing! If any of our international teams need assistance with parts or batteries let me know and I’ll see what we can do to help!!
Glad to have yall coming out to the Orlando regionals coming up.
Team 801 here. We’ve been finishing up our robot for the competition here soon.
The team watched the palmetto regionals and thought it was a blast to see those daring enough to go for the ‘week 0.5 regional’. Good luck to you all and cant wait to see you out there
…think we’ve got ourselves a diamond-in-the-rough … Lot’s of efficiency to be squeezed out of <to-be-named-tomorrow >, yet.
As always, I am looking forward to seeing everyone in Orlando!
Congratulations to SPAM for both Chairman’s award and a regional win. I have seen your tremendous efforts in changing the culture back in my hometown, and I think it is an awesome thing that deserves recognition. I’m glad that the event judges saw the same thing.
Pink shows us another highly efficient robot, and their attention to detail by putting together an alliance that could effectively score and prevent scoring. 233’s low goal monster, 180’s catapult, and 4592’s defense was a scary alliance. I am also happy that 2383 got a bid to St. Louis despite having to sit out the final round. I think the wildcard system does a great job of helping hard working teams make it to the Championships.
Working with Moose was fun as well. Their 6th seed alliance was one of my favorites, Riptide mentor bias aside. Quarterfinal 8 was a great match, and I feel like it showed off the full capabilities of the alliance of Moose, Bionic Tigers, and Roaring Riptide. Good luck to 1065 and 1592 in their later regionals.
Also shout out to the BB-R8ERS 5557. I heard the call for new bumper numbers in the pits, and it is unfortunate that that was what prevented you guys from playing in the playoffs. The schedule at the Regional was less than ideal, and I have no doubt you would have everything sorted out if there was a longer than 20 minute break between alliance selection and playoffs. I hope other events will try their hardest to prevent something like this in the upcoming weeks.
Finally thanks to everyone who put on the event. I had a lot of fun, and it looked like a lot of others were too. Congratulations to everyone for their hard work, and good luck to teams with more events left in their season.
Can I ask what happened here, if anybody who was in the process is reading this? It sounds like 5557’s bumpers were deemed illegal during their elimination reinspection. Does anyone know if they had changed them since initial inspection, and what exactly was wrong?
