okay, so i see nobody has replied, and only 100 have viewed this… so i will give more info to those who want it (which is nobody…)
the database uses VBS for excel to transport data from one sheet, labeled matches, into a specific sheet for each team. at the conclusion of the day of qual matches, you can go back to your meeting with what laptop you used and go to a sheet called “collective summary” so that each of the teams’ averages and pit scouting information can be laid side by side, team by team. This also color codes each cell based on most, least, and middle-ish. this will let you look at the numbers more objectively, rather than remembering the reputation of a team from years past. You also focus more on color than you would on typical numerals, so the color ranges will help you determine who is doing better in certain areas, but still see that they do poorly in others.
I hope this objectivity is not lost with the spreadsheet’s misuse. it is really a very good database… even though we never picked, we still made a list as though we would! i suggest you use this if you feel you may be top 12 seeds at competitions…
