40 teams from 5 states will be competing at the Central Illinois Regional in Peoria, IL this week - March 16-18, 2017. It should be a fun and competitive event.

Definitely an impressive team list - I’ll be sure to tune in!

Can’t wait to see everyone there!!

Leaving Burnsville at 9:30 AM sharp tomorrow. Here’s a little bit of the practice time we had with the gear pickup and hang.

I’m personally very excited to be competing with all these great teams from around the Midwest, along with a couple close to home.

Very excited to be competing with so many great teams!

If anyone is interested in trading team shirts, I have 2 Team ASAP 4646 t-shirts from previous years that I would like trade with other teams! Both of which are size medium and have been used, but are still in very good condition. I have one shirt from 2014, and one shirt from 2015. I would be particularly interested in trading with teams: 2220, 2481, 2826, 4096, or 4143, but would definitely be open to others! I would prefer a medium in return.
PM me if interested.

Looking forward to what should be a great competition!

The Central Illinois Regional was an epic event. A special shout out to our FTA and Field supervisor for their extraordinary performance. Despite numerous matches with hundreds of balls left on the field, our field reset crew worked efficiently to keep our match schedules on time. The consistency of veteran volunteers, the unbridled enthusiasm and expertise of FIRST Alumni, and our adventuresome first time volunteers provided just what we needed to make CIR successful!

This was the best run regional I have been to. The venue was amazing the pits were close but still removed from all the noise of the typical set up of being behind a curtain, the Bradley University campus was awesome, the volunteers were amazing and super friendly, and the competition was tough.

I will make sure Wave comes back again.

What an amazing 4th annual Central Illinois Regional. Massive thanks to all of the great volunteers who helped make the event run very smooth, even with the super complicated field. The whole weekend was once again an amazing experience for everyone in attendance and all the credit goes to those volunteers.

Big thanks go out to our amazing alliance partners from 4143 and 2220 (yet again!).

It was great to finally get to team up with 4143 on an elim alliance. We had some fun on practice day dancing around the field with our swerve drives and proved that we could put up 4 RP equivalent matches if all the cycles aligned properly. Turned out, that was the precursor to that amazing QF1-2. You’ve got a very efficient cycling robot this year and your drive team (and pilot, she was amazing all weekend!) just kept clicking match after match to make the cycles count. Great job, guys, and the Roboteers will look forward to the abundance of opportunities to cross paths again in the future. Good luck and we will see you in St. Louis!

2220, we were amazed that you guys were once again available to invite to join our alliance at pick 16. That’s the third consecutive year and, as always, you were great partners. You played an amazing defensive role for our alliance and executed the gameplan perfectly match after match. Great job, guys! Also, it was amazing to work with your pit crew and drive team over lunch to help upgrade your climber setting the stage for getting those quick climbs and the autonomous shooting coordination which were absolutely critical. Also, massive congrats on winning the Engineering Inspiration Award!!! Very well deserved. We will continue to look forward to any opportunity we get to share the field with you guys in the future - maybe for a 4th straight year at CIR in 2018. Best of luck and we will see you again in St. Louis!

I also cannot say enough about the finalist alliance from 5847, 2169, and 4241. Those were some hard fought finals matches, and it was a ton of fun sharing the field with all 3 of you guys for them. Also, congrats on all 3 of you for earning spots in St. Louis by the way of wild cards or, in 2169’s case, the even more impressive and well deserved Chairman’s Award win! Absolutely incredible job from a very impressive trio of an alliance! Best of luck at all your future competitions this season and we look forward to seeing you all again in St. Louis!

Also, shoutouts to all of our friends on 2826, 1756, and 1625. It’s always great to compete with all you guys. Best of luck getting ready for Midwest and 7 Rivers, respectively. The Roboteers will be rooting for you all!

If anyone is interested in how they did in the eyes of another team or our iPad scouting app we posted a white paper on it
