I didn’t see a thread for Dallas so I thought I would start one.
I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to all the volunteers and teams in Dallas last weekend. We had an incredible time. Our team is in the 9th year of existence, but we were basically re-born and re-branded last year. The team had never won an FRC award and had never made elims once in its entire history. Our entire drive team is freshmen. We have one senior and only two juniors. Winning EI and getting to play in elims with such incredible teams is big for our future.
Thanks to 6672 Fusion Corps and 2848 All Sparks for inviting us to your alliance. It was an eye-opening experience for our kids (and I) to see the depth of game analysis that Greg Needle brings to the table, and you made a huge impact on them. Thanks also to 2848 for helping us shore up our climber - it was working perfectly by the end of the day - and the java assistance on our shooting autonomous.
Thanks to 2468 Appreciate for some great tips on climbing / hanging, and for being great pit neighbors. Your team is doing some incredible work and the Chairmans Award is well deserved!
And really special thanks to 1296 Full Metal Jackets for loaning us your spool prototype for our winch, but more importantly for saving our team three years ago and keeping an eye on us as we’ve grown since then. Being a small team that is also preparing for an FTC Super Regional, we didn’t have a lot of time to shoot a well-produced Chairman’s video, but we wanted to highlight your contributions and so we are sharing it here.
For our pit judging and chairman’s presentation/essay, we received some really great advice from members of 33 and 254!
I am surely leaving out a lot of people, but thank you to everyone, and we are really excited to be moving on for the first time.
It was a blast to play with y’all in Elims at Dallas, and we were happy to help y’all get that climber working! Hopefully we can play with y’all if you come down to Dallas again.
We had a blast at Dallas. The tournament ran well due to volunteers, judges and refs. Thanks for the effort it takes to put on a successful tournament.
It was indeed good to be neighbors with FRC 2723 at the event. Congrats to Team Rocket on the EI award and qualifying for Champs. See you in Houston.
Thanks for Alliance captain FRC 4206 RoboVikings for leading the charge in picking us and to FRC 5417 Eagle Robotics for flying so high as went through the tournament.
Congrats to FRC 6357 The Spring Konstant on your Rookie All Star. Way to represent Central Texas.
It is always fun to compete with old foes and friends such as FRC 148, FRC 1296, FRC 2848 and FRC 3005. We enjoyed getting to know some new teams in attendance at Dallas Regional. Best of luck to all the teams who competed at Dallas this past weekend as you move through STEAMWORKS season.
We enjoyed our time in Dallas too. Nice venue, although little larger stands would be nice. Nevertheless it was still nice.
Congrats to Team Rocket for EI, well deserved, and to Team 2468 for Chairman’s.
There were a lot of great exciting matches, of course I’m partial to
Quarterfinal 4 where 3 shots of fuel made the difference and all 6 robots made the climb. http://www.dallasfirstvideo.com/Event/Video/1451
I wish all of the matches were uploaded not just the elimination tournament matches. Maybe those will be uploaded later.
