Exciting List!

Exciting for sure, but also notably FoC-free. It’ll be interesting to see if anyone decides the road to the undisputed title goes through Indianapolis.

This makes for an interesting situation. If any of the winners at champs planned to go to the FOC, are they allowed to make changes to upgrade to participate in IRI?
I also don’t see teams on the list that historically went to China for the off-season also, including our team that got a formal invitation and plan to go there.

Wish I could attend all 3.

I believe they’re allowed to make modifications as long as the robot is returned to it’s championship state before FoC.

Correct, they are allowed to do whatever they please for off season, but it must be returned to the state that it left championships, with the exception of code and non-functional decoration.

I knew I had been forgetting to do something this week, just submitted 179’s application

Interesting. No 19XX teams.

6 texas teams that’s cool

2767 and 1676 have put their hats into the ring.

What is the most recent list?

Also note that these teams may have practice bots, so they could even make improvements to the practice robot, use that at IRI, then use the “bagged” robot at FoC.

Just to clarify, FoC teams did not need to bag.

Hence the quotes around “bagged” since for most purposes other than working on code, the robot might as well be in the bag again.

IIRC they are allowed to modify for events like IRI as long as they revert the robot back to the Einstein configuration for FOC (other than the code, that is). As long as it was a “bolt-on” change (using preexisting bolt holes if you want to be technical, not sure how strict enforcement is), it’s legal once removed.

Will there be an updated list before the application period closes? I’d like to insure our application went through.

Yes, we will post an updated list later this afternoon, and again tomorrow for the final applications listing.

I wonder if any of them are holding out for Chezy Champs, given that it should be after FoC and there’s more time to prepare.

As of now, 124 applications. A few hours left.
