It seems like almost every year Newton division is so stacked. F = ma too strong? I think so.
Bold prediction: 118, 1678, and 5012 pair up to almost re-create the 2015 champs winning alliance. (sadly 1671 is in carver)

Note: Due to the bracketed scoring of rotors, gear contribution is generally underestimated (especially when gear power exceeds 4). Also, the “Combined Power” is clearly arbitrary and is just a baseline for comparing teams, so I use two metrics.

Team 3663 is looking forward to playing on Newton! The teams there look amazing.
This should prove to be an interesting division just because none of these teams were assured their wins at the regional, each of them had to fight for it. I think that 1678 and 118 are going to team up against 330 and a gem that they find. Should be interesting, and a fight for hoppers.

On a side note: Don’t be surprised if we ask to borrow tools from time to time. We don’t have any. We built our robot out of scrap metal using an arc welder, hand saws, and a $20 ratchet set.

I posted this elsewhere earlier but I’ll put it here again. We got invited to the Champs via wait-list today and we’re working to make it happen. We are in this preliminary schedule. So if we don’t show up… the entire Newton division will have a fun time (as if this division wasn’t crazy enough already). So if we can’t come I would like to apologize to everyone in the Newton division for screwing you over even more than you already were.
So, what was the final outcome, Thayer? Is 159 coming to Houston or will you not be able to attend?
