Team 6613 assisted teams 2509 and 3130 as the Northern Lights Champion alliance this weekend. 6613 also took home the Highest Rookie Seed and Rookie Inspiration Award. Unfortunately they are in bind, being located in an economically depressed area with timber and mining as the major industries of NE Wisconsin and they do not have the dollars needed to fund the registration or travel expenses to make it to St. Louis!

It was so satisfying to meet these kids on the floor during finals - precisely because I have FIRST hand experience with FIRST changing student trajectories and see the opportunity to help here.
Let’s demonstrate the best that Gracious Professionalism has to offer - and show how all of us can help them!

3130 wishes the best of luck to 6613 in St. Louis - and with the help of the FIRST ecosystem we hope to get you there!

Doug, 3130 MentERR

I graduated many years ago from a high school within a few miles of this Gogebic team. Team 3130 should feel extremely proud as I just checked out the Go Fund Me account. It is amazing what your families have donated to help out this rookie team. I have been following this team since its start. I can’t wait to see them in action at Worlds.

Thanks to Team 3130 for showing us how to step up and help a team in need!

Do they have an address I can mail a check to? I’m happy to help, less happy for gofundme to take a cut.

For those that share the desire to see their dollars go completely to 6613, you can use this address to mail a check:

Doug - Thanks for all your years of help in setup and ‘behind the table’ help at events.

I talked a lot to these guys after the end of competition at Northern Lights – super relaxed team with a great attitude and really were a showcase of how to operate a successful rookie team.

They were super excited to get the opportunity to go to worlds, and I would be very disappointed if they were not able to raise the funds to bring their students to such a fantastically inspiring event.
