2017 San Francisco Regional

Now that week 2 has come to a close I figured it would be the perfect time to start a thread on the first-ever San Francisco regional! We are so excited to be a part of the latest California event. There are so many great teams attending that it should be a memorable and enjoyable weekend.

Can’t wait!

841 is looking forward to it!

Given the issues in field construction Week 1 & 2… I tried to use the website “Contact Us” form last week to ask about whether the organizers needed more volunteers on field assembly / breakdown on Thursday & Sunday, but haven’t gotten anything back. If anyone on here has a better idea on how to reach the volunteer coordinator, shoot me a PM?
EDIT: Got it, thanks!

I am excited to be traveling out to the San Francisco Regional and looking forward to seeing teams and old friends.

Sincerely,
Andy B.

I (and the rest of 5026) are looking forward to it, looks like it should be a fun one!
Also looking forward to meeting the one and only Andy Baker hopefully

The 60 year old robot hauler is loaded up and ready to head west!

(your lead mentors should have received an email from Theresa Bateman, Regional Director of Northern California. Let me know by PM if you need contact info)

And it’s always a pleasure to say hi to Andy Baker!

Not to mention seeing what awesomeness the Poofs bring to the table.

604 is excited to be competing at the first ever San Francisco Regional!

Our alumni who were around when you inspected our robot at 2012 Silicon Valley got very excited upon hearing about this! See everyone soon

Beautiful ride there Jim!

Side note - I got to meet and work with Theresa this weekend at CVR, and she is amazing - definitely a valuable addition to the FIRST CA team.

What’s her opinion on the district system :stuck_out_tongue:

Looking forward to seeing you again, Andy!

When do you get in town? I could use another inspector

Look forward to seeing everybody there.

-Aren

Hey everyone! We are thrilled and honored to share our “house” with you this weekend. Teams from Hawaii (2437 & 4270) and Turkey (2905, 6429, & 6472) your robot crates have arrived safe and intact! Seeing these massive crates has our team simultaneously reminiscent of CMP and excited for the inaugural SFR.

The kitchen at our school makes good pizza and burgers! If you want to pre-order “fuel” for your teams (to skip the lunch line), here is the form. Credit cards are accepted for pre-orders but food is cash only on site.

We’ve been working hard to get everything in “gear” & provide a good venue for everyone. If you have any questions about traffic flow, the load-in zone, robot vs. pedestrian paths, parking, or the event schedule visit the website at firstsfbay.org.

*** Please remember SF is a city. *** Cars, trailers, vans, etc. should be empty and free of all valuables to prevent break-ins & theft of your belongings. ***

We can’t wait to see what all of you came up with and to compete with everyone.

See you in two days!

Thanks for the link to the agenda!

Excited to see you all this weekend!

Is anyone willing to snap a picture of the practice schedule? I’d like to catch the first glimpse of the 254 and 971 machines on the webcast!

What was that match with 3000 penalty points? What happened?

I had no idea about that page, thanks!
