Now that week 2 has come to a close I figured it would be the perfect time to start a thread on the first-ever San Francisco regional! We are so excited to be a part of the latest California event. There are so many great teams attending that it should be a memorable and enjoyable weekend.
Given the issues in field construction Week 1 & 2… I tried to use the website “Contact Us” form last week to ask about whether the organizers needed more volunteers on field assembly / breakdown on Thursday & Sunday, but haven’t gotten anything back. If anyone on here has a better idea on how to reach the volunteer coordinator, shoot me a PM?
EDIT: Got it, thanks!
I (and the rest of 5026) are looking forward to it, looks like it should be a fun one!
Also looking forward to meeting the one and only Andy Baker hopefully
The 60 year old robot hauler is loaded up and ready to head west!
(your lead mentors should have received an email from Theresa Bateman, Regional Director of Northern California. Let me know by PM if you need contact info)
And it’s always a pleasure to say hi to Andy Baker!
Hey everyone! We are thrilled and honored to share our “house” with you this weekend. Teams from Hawaii (2437 & 4270) and Turkey (2905, 6429, & 6472) your robot crates have arrived safe and intact! Seeing these massive crates has our team simultaneously reminiscent of CMP and excited for the inaugural SFR.
*** Please remember SF is a city. *** Cars, trailers, vans, etc. should be empty and free of all valuables to prevent break-ins & theft of your belongings. ***
We can’t wait to see what all of you came up with and to compete with everyone.
