Highlights:
STEMley buddy system, providing a boost to pre-rookie teams looking to compete for the first time!
on-field minute-to-win-it action!
STEMley Cup pre-event tour!
in the spirit of the age of steam, STEMley will utilize presto-log technology. Presto-fuel increases the oxidation rate in the boiler and kicks up the pressure! Presto-gears crank up the airship rotor rpm! See the STEMley website for a full description of rule changes.
Volunteers:
STEMley prides itself on it’s amazing volunteers who ensure that the event runs smoothly and that teams have a quality experience. If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out our volunteer registration form.
We will be holding back a few spots for pre-rookie teams that may be established in the fall. If no additional pre-rookies register before the early registration deadline we will begin adding veteran teams from the wait list. For wait list registration information see the STEMley website.
the STEMley cup. Gaffers tape will attach a red solo to back to hold mountain dew, or sparkling cider (especially since Lord Stanley’s Cup shows little desire to return to Detroit anytime soon).
Not really sure how it works for off-seasons, so will the qual matches be put on TheBlueAlliance the morning of the event, or does it only get updated after the event is over?

We will be using the official FMS, so if all goes well, match schedule and scores should go up to TBA immediately.
Unfortunately we don’t have a volunteer scheduled to clip and upload match video during the event. We’ll try to get a recording of the whole day’s stream archived somewhere after the event.
As has become tradition, I’ve produced a set of “Hockey Cards” for the teams attending the STEMley Cup Championship. Each team will receive a few randoms in their registration kit, and additional packs will be available for purchase at concessions. However the main goal is to get teams talking and trading with each other. Enjoy the low-res sample attached, and get pumped for this weekend!
Thanks! Unfortunately the venue only has room for 30 teams, and there’s a long waitlist, so neither us nor MakeShift are fielding teams. Almost all of our students are volunteering anyway. That said, you might find 6878’s robot (nee 9406) familiar!
Continuing the Hype Train, here’s a sweet video our media team put together with clips of all the teams competing for the 2017 STEMley Cup. 3 more days!
Team 3015 is a Beta test team this year, and we will have our robot running on those new beta libraries to test them. This isn’t our official open house, but we are all about being transparent. And, no, we don’t have the new motor. Come by our pit and ask us questions!
