2017 World High Score Predictions

Some students on my team are placing bets on what the world high score will be at the end of the season (PENALTY FREE).

Some of our guesses include:

665
570
590
670
550

What are your guesses? We would love to see what they are!

525 at Michigan Champs next week.

562

700

585

I’ll go there.

Penalty Free as in none at all, or penalty free as in if you discount the penalties it is still the high?

Mine will be penalty free score of 563.

561

If my math is correct the max points you can get without fuel is 465 points that includes the 4 rotor bonus plus 2 rotors in auto. So assuming you get the 60 points for 40 fuel plus bonus that puts you at 525. Somehow the possibility of getting over 600 points without penalty seems almost impossible as you would need 225 additional balls to get there.

I think 550 is pushing it - extra 75 balls in high goal.

Has anyone seen a match where one team puts quite a few fuel in and another team dumps that same fuel in their robot and then shoot in high goal?

I’m going to predict that Michigan will be unable to best New England / SVR’s record of 517 without fouls. If that record is broken, I think it will be at one of the two championships. I also predict that it won’t be beat at Ontario either

I think the record of 522 from SVR (F2) and NE - Hartford (S1-1) has that beat.

This score of 525 is assuming 2 rotors in auto. The more realistic number you’re looking for is 505 in this case.

I’m only considering foulless matches here

Penalty free as in none at all

True… although if we are looking for max score. Two rotors were done in auto in Oklahoma twice, and I saw it several times online in the Northwest today. So it is doable.

I dont see any reason to go that far…

Emphasis mine.

Y’all know something the rest of us don’t ::rtm::
