2018 JUMPSTART Training Event

Save the Date! December 1st is JUMPSTART!
We are proud to announce that JUMPSTART 2018 will be on the campus of St Cloud State University for the fourth year! The main event will happen on Saturday, December 1. There are big changes for this season as we push to bring over 700 participants to this event this year.

More information and registration here!

There will be more sessions, more teams providing sessions, and better access to our sessions via Twitch, Youtube, etc. We will be rolling out more updates as we get closer to the date.

Spill-over Engineering Sessions - Friday, November 30
The biggest change this year is that we will actually be starting the event a day earlier. For those that travel in the night before and those that are local, we will be having more in-depth and hands-on-machines offerings. These sessions are geared to smaller groups, longer sessions, and with some of the best minds in Minnesota conducting them.

Vendor Fair
Also new this year is the Vendor Fair. We are bringing in local vendors including Central McGowan, Power/Mation, and others. We also have a number of vendors that are more nationally renowned such as Fastenal, Digi-Key, and a few more that we will unveil in the coming weeks.

FTC Vermillion League - High Tech Kids Partnership
Another new highlight of this event is High Tech Kids partnering with JUMPSTART and bringing The Vermillion League along with their state-of-FTC program this year. They will be playing their matches in the auditorium in Atwood Memorial Center. The 11 teams in this league will be playing their final matches before they head off to the MN SuperQualifiers in January. We are looking forward to expanding our partnership with High Tech kids in future years to bring more FIRST events to JUMPSTART Training events!

Twitch and Video
We are working with a well known Twitch Channel to bring this event to the masses. The event sessions will also be captured and posted on our JUMPSTART Website that will be posted shortly. More information is forthcoming once we lock down the media end.

Minnesota Robotics Coaches Association
The Minnesota Robotics Coaches Association is something that has been in the works for almost a year. A first in FIRST, mentors and coaches in Minnesota will be able to join an association that will provide insurance, state-wide recognition for mentors/coaches as well as teams, students, and other awards. We have partnered with the Minnesota State High School Coaches Association to secure a seat at the table with all other sports in our state. More information and enrollment will be available at JUMPSTART.

We hope to have you join us this year!

JUMPSTART Training Event Registration

Alex, the link you provided is giving me a 404… I think you meant: https://sites.google.com/frc4607cis.com/cis4607/jumpstart-training-events/jumpstart-scsu?authuser=0

Thanks! Fixed now…

This is a fantastic training event. I strongly encourage MN FRC teams to attend. Lots of learning for students and mentors. When will the agenda be available? Thank you to St. Cloud State and 4607 for making this happen.

It’s already posted to the link above, on the right side.

We are currently at 29 teams and 631 attendees registered. We will have to cap this event for 2018 at 800.

Here is the most current list of registered teams:

I don’t have the team lists but I do know that registration has closed. We expect around 1000 people to be in attendance including the approximately 200 FTC competing students. This is going to be so much fun. December 2nd will be like the day after bag day. Relief its over but reflect on what we accomplished.

Last I heard it’ll be 850 people for JUMPSTART and another 250 for the FTC event. So 1100 people in total which is our limit due to the fire code in the ballroom! This will definitely be an experience… I’m very much looking forward to presenting and participating at such a large event!

Next year we’re going to need some new location(s)…

We typically close registration after Minne Mini Regional.

So here is the latest team listing… waiting on the numbers from two rookies.

That is along with FTC teams from the Vermillion League here in Central Minnesota. So we are expecting 1100 people - more than double our 540 from last year! Which does mean more locations for next year. As for where - stay tuned!

From what I saw, this looked like a great event. Wish I could have made it out, but there’s always next year.

More than a few visitors wanted drawing of our Pit Parts Carts. They are now on Grab Cad
