2018 Turing Subdivision

Looking forward to playing on Turing with a very competitive grouping of teams! Wishing safe and uneventful journeys to all teams heading to Houston…

We’re excited to compete on Turing! Our division looks like its full of a lot of great teams and we have the highest average OPR of all the divisions. It should be exciting.

So many top tier scalebot teams in Turing. Best of luck to everybody competing!

We are definitely excited!

This division could be very interesting, looking forward to some great matches.

Looking forward to being on Turing once again with a number of our friends from the PNW

3512 is incredibly excited to play in Turing Division with teams from across the US, Canada, Mexico, China, Israel, and Australia!

I can’t wait to see compete against best teams from PWN in 2471, 1318, 2046, 2557, 3218, 5468.

There’s too many good teams in Turing to list here without going into some sort of statistical analysis, however I have to give a special shout-out to our friends on 5818, our fellow Ventura 2018 Winners!

We’ll see everyone in Houston next Wednesday!

The overall depth of this division is insane. Definitely looking forward to competing with you guys.

I know OPR has been discounted this season for various reasons, but I still believe it is a good metric. Here is an excel sheet that predicts the outcome of each match based on the average OPR of each alliance. Have fun.

OPR’s are pulled from divisions.co MAX OPR stat.

I wonder if these are world component OPR values or not.

I’ll post the ELO/EPR based model we use later.

Also if any team would like to join us for a scouting alliance where all data will be available on Google Sheets. Send me a PM.

Wow Turing is stacked. So many good scale bots, the highest OPR out of all the divisions by far.

Good luck to all the teams, excited to watch and play in some good matches!

Out of curiosity, what made you decide to pull from the MAX OPR stat? While it does show the maximum potential, it still can have numerous outliers and the OPR trend graphs on divisons.co show this as well. Just curious to your insight. (Also I think it’s a lot more difficult to pull AVG OPR from divisons.co now that I’m looking at it, so that may be a factor.)

Eh I just whipped this up in 15 minutes just to put something out there. I can update the numbers with the World Component OPR values by Ether.

Max OPR is the most predictive single OPR stat of championship performance.

Here are my current ranking of the teams. I prioritized auton scale importance, but did try to factor in other metrics as well such as defensive switch take overs and vault points.

Looking forward to playing with and meeting everyone in Turing. Very strong division Top to bottom.

What is this based on? OPR? Does this factor into schedules?

Its based on weighted component OPRs. It does not factor in schedules at all. I might post an update later that does this. My only issue, is that I have no way to get the schedule into my code.

The sheet has been updated to World Component OPR by Ether.

Yeah that makes sense, I don’t think TBA or anything will post that schedule either so you can’t pull it off them. I mean it is a pdf so maybe make a copy into excel?
