2019 Curie Sub-Division Predictions—2767 will NOT make it to Einstein's

With good teams like 20, 78, 126, 195, 302, 494, 987, 1023, 1114, 1241, 1684, 1807, 2056, and 3538, I’m thinking that an alliance with any of these two teams could make it to Einstein’s and keep 2767 from making it past division finals.

What do you guys think?

Given how important climbs have proven in Detroit, I think you’re wrong. Their suction climb combined with a fast climb like 1114’s yeet could prove super effective. Although climbing won’t matter if they can’t keep up in cycles. Curie is so stacked I could really see anything happening.

my prediction: there is going to be a death by serpentine in Curie.

I have not written my predictions yet…

All I will say is a potential scorch the earth scenario could be possible…

I feel like you could turn this the other way about any other team on that list. I wouldnt single out 2767. On paper they havent had as good of a season as the past but they still have a fast double capable climber, and has pretty low cycle times.

Curie is such a strong division, I feel like you could pull names out of a hat and have a better chance of predicting who moves on than actually trying to calculate it.

I say anything can happen, especially with the amount of good teams.

Now with another team possibly being added and changing the prelim schedule (darn it, we really liked ours…), who knows. Match schedule is obviously a huge part of the battle.

Definitely will be interesting!!

I mean, at least five of the nine teams you named will also not make Einstein…

Yes, but it’s highly likely that 2056 will rank first. Remember that 2056 has consistently made it to Einstein’s every year since 2015. There are other good 1st pick options on that list over 2767 (195, 987, and 1114 to name a few). Look at what happened to 5460 at Kentwood. They picked 2767 instead of 1918 (which is the team they should’ve picked based on pure Cargo/Hatch output) and it cost them the win because of it.

Which is kind of sad TBH.

Agreed, the fact that at least 5 teams out of 2056 1114 195 987 1241 3538 2767 is guarunteed not to make einstein is pretty unfortunate, especially when all of these teams would dominate other divisions.

Yeah, look at the powerhouse that made it out of Dow at states. I thought they’d win, but upsets are just part of the game.

I singled out 2767 since they are double world champions after being on Einstein’s only twice and are paired with other teams that were on Detroit Einstein’s last year (195, 494, 1241, 2056, and 6090). Three of those robots were on the same alliance that came out of the Tesla division (2056, 1241, 2869, 6090).

Couple random predictions for Curie:

  • 2056 and 1114 does not happen. A team like 2767, 3538, 195 seeds above 2056 and picks them. 2056 accepts.
  • No major scorches happen.
  • At least one team out of the group of strongest teams in this division seeds below 30th.
  • The 6th or 7th seed alliance gets to finals but loses to the 1st seeded alliance.
  • The winner of Curie wins Detroit.

Based on the teams I’m seeing name dropped in this thread, looks like I have to start up the 1807 hype machine myself.

16 game pieces scored + HAB3 climb

15 game pieces scored + HAB3 climb

Wheres the bensalem match where they maxed our their available scoring locations

Any videos of them under heavy defense? They were kinda left alone in these matches surprisingly.

Don’t forget the 2 hatch auto.

Two Hatch on the Cargo Ship? That’s cool. Usually teams do a two Hatch onto the Rocket.

Some high game piece teams you’re missing. 78 and 126. 78 has 9-11game pieces and hab 3 climb. 126 has 11-12 game pieces and lvl 2 climb.

We do a two hatch on both as well in Sandstorm.
The one on the cargo ship was great during elims.

Our team hasn’t been in the group mentioned either, but we’ll come to play! So many great teams in this Division, excited to compete with everyone!
