I wish I had enough time to have actually deeply analyzed this. IRI is always so much fun to fail to predict

Rule updates:

  • Any bracket including the same team multiple times will only receive points for the one most valuable instance of that team
  • All instances of 2200 will be treated as 5010.

Drat, my sinister plot has been foiled yet again.

2910 didn’t perform as well as I expected. Feels bad man.

So is there a winner of this challenge?

I know I came very not close but I’m curious (and lazy to check for myself ) to see if anyone:

A. Didn’t predict 2056 would pick 1114 or vice versa
B. Would predict that they’d select 195 whose alliance bounced them on Curie

I think they did awesome but the power at IRI makes it very tough.

2910 is a pure joy to watch, like watching an amazing athlete at work.

So fast, so nimble and fluid the bot is remarkable, and well driven too. I’m very glad I got to see them in action live. Makes me wonder what it must be like to see Mad Town.

Please 1323 come next year!

So, I said 2056 wouldn’t pick 1114 not because I thought it wouldn’t happen- I just hoped it wouldn’t, to keep things interesting. (Nothing against 2056+1114, they’re spectacular together)

Fair enough sir. Rest well, I know I didn’t win so it is pure curiosity for me. :slightly_smiling_face:

Darn. It looks like I would have won if I submitted a full bracket. I guess that’s why I shouldnt submit it 4 minutes before the deadline. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What was the theoretical maximum score of this contest if the event had been predicted completely correctly?

826:

  • 136 for alliance selection positions (sum from 9 to 16 + sum from 1 to 16)
  • 210 for playoff results (30x3+20x3+10x6)
  • 480 for correctly predicting all 48 teamups in the correct alliance positions (8 alliances * 6 team ups per alliance)
