Mark your calendars for May 18th and watch this forum and your email for more info, as we finalize the details for the 2019 edition of our FRC MO State Champs invitational event.
This year the one-day event will be hosted at Lindenwood University’s Hyland Center in St. Charles, MO. For those of you who attended the 2018 Gateway Robotics Challenge (GRC) you will know what an awesome venue this facility provides.
The top teams from across MO will be invited to this event based on their 2019 FRC season performance both on the field and in judged awards.
With 2 weeks left in the season, wanted to post a sneak-peak of the standings for Missouri teams. Ranks are based on the FRC district point system outlined in the 2019 manual. Only a team’s first 2 events are scored. Teams playing only 1 event have those points doubled to simulate a repeat performance at a 2nd event. (Note: Culture awards such as Rookie All Star, Regional Engineering Inspiration, and Regional Chairman’s award are not doubled.)
“*” indicates a 2nd event that will affect the standings yet to be played.
“**” indicates a team that has yet to play this season.
Initial invitations for the 2019 MO State FRC Championship will be going out this week. If your team is in the Top 32 teams in the state based on 2019 season performance, your coaches will be receiving an invitation. Additional invitations will be sent early next week for Waitlisted teams.
If your team is planning to participate in this event and you are attending one of the FIRST Champs events, please make arrangements to transport your robot from Champs rather than having it shipped.
Good luck to all our teams competing in a Week 6 event and for those going to Champs!
Updated ranking after all 6 weeks of regional competition. Some ties in “district” ranking points went all the way to the 6th tiebreaker - Highest Match Score. None had to go to random coin flip.
We would like to thank everyone that works to put this competition on. Unfortunately, team 5801 has declined our invitation. Coming so close after Champs and taking in consideration transportation/distance to the event we just can’t swing it. Good luck to all the teams competing and thank you again to the event organizers!
Any chance of getting a listing of who all accepted and will be attending. Team Driven is looking forwards to coming back to MO and having some more fun!!!
Thanks to Lindenwood University, St. Charles MO for becoming an awesome partner with our FIRST programs in Missouri, and for hosting the 2019 MO State FRC Championship! They are providing some great promotion to this event: http://bit.ly/2vIDNgm
Does anyone know if the event will be streamed on https://www.twitch.tv/frcstl? I also hope they upload Youtube videos of matches because I know they didn’t do that last year.
Starting with a 1094 tribute, as they have declared this their final event. Lots of fond memories competing with this team. You’ll be missed. Good luck in whatever this talented bunch chooses to pursue next.
In past years at the MO State Championship, there were 3 practice rounds followed by a playoff draft with seeding determined by district points earned during the season (calculated by Alpha_Beta above). Not sure about this year though.
Thanks, I recalled something like that. Didn’t see event format mentioned in this thread. Glad to know that there were some practice rounds. Probably that was useful to scouts, since some teams will have lost key seniors by this point and other looking for redemption might be better prepared than they were earlier.
So long Channel Cats. I’ve enjoyed interacting with you all and will miss you at Cowtown. Thanks for making us part of your group a couple years back, that was fun, and also for the nice times we’ve had chatting with your team.
