The points cutoff was 63 points, which 2 teams tied on. The tiebreaker was decided by the first of 9, “Highest Playoff Points” (2928 got to semis and had 20 points to 4915’s 10 points)
48 teams qualified by points. 2412 (55th) and 2635 (75th) won chairmans and took the last two spots.
This is the first ever DCMP for 7461 (7th), 8532 (18th), 1432 (33rd, who has since declined), and 8248 (45th).
This is the first time that 1318 (57th) and 4061 (71th) missed DCMP since its inception
The highest seeded rookie in the district is 8532 (and is the only RAS winner qualified to compete with their bot)
30% of the top 10 and 32% of the top 25 are from Oregon, with 7034 being the highest seeded OR team (3rd)
2147 is the higest ranked team east of the cascades (13th)
This is the first year that 2980 has not won a culture award at a district event
This is the first year that 568 (29th) can attend DCMP with their robot (they also qualified in 2020 but due to covid did not attend) and now holds the highest ever ranked AK team in PNW history going into DCMP since their addition to PNW.
Very excited for it to be back in Cheney, cant wait to see all the teams competing this weekend!
PNW is only running 50 teams at district championships this year? I wouldn’t have expected that to drop, and was assuming 64 teams like previous years.
Will be great to be back at PNW district champs though, inspecting and CSAing. I haven’t been to one since 2016.
Was 42 at the start of the season, was upped around W2(?) of build. Not sure why its down, as EWU has hosted 64 teams in the past w/o issue and at similar sizes to where PNW is today (im betting its covid related though).
Yeah I found that surprising, as I know we were about at this number of teams when districts started, and we ran 64 team championships in both Portland and EWU. I would guess smaller event due to covid as well, not due to less teams.
This was pointed out to me when i posted this elsewhere a couple days ago and i completely forgot to add 8248 in. Will add that in a second, thanks for the reminder.
People crossing the mountains should keep an eye on the weather for the return trip on Saturday. Looks like there will be some snow. Also, remember your ice scrapers because there may be frost in the mornings.
Even with 50 teams, it’ll be a lot of matches to scout. Teams with only a small number of team members able to attend should consider partnering with another team (or several) on scouting data collection.
The match schedule is very interesting and balanced. It appears the top teams generally face each other (2910 vs. 2046 twice!) and are not allied with each other. The rankings could be a wild scramble.
From a quick glance at the schedule, both 2046 and 2910 look to have a rough time ahead of them. Standout schedules to me are 4488 and 2976, who seem to both have their hardest match be Quals 71, where they have to play each other
Average PNW DCMP qual match score 88.4, and average qual match winning score 102.1, are both higher than Israel (two weeks ago). Those were considered insanely high at the time.
SVR might be scary, with >100pt losing score common.
/edit: and PNW sets the new world high score in Q84. 57 high cargo, double traversal.
164 pts. No fouls.
Don’t see the video yet, but that may be due to the man who normally uploads them being called to the field to receive a VoY award.
I think as of yesterday the world high score was 169 include 8 foul points, at Israel DCMP Q57. (Note that Israel DCMP Q62 includes 191 on the blue side that feature Orbit, but they have stated the score is inaccurate because of overcounting upper hub cargo by one of the sensors).
As of today, there was a score of 160 at FIT DCMP - Mercury Q40, with no fouls. That is still one point short of the Israel DCMP record after subtracting that score’s foul points.
As of later today, there was a score of 164 at PNW DCMP Q84, with no fouls (link in earlier post). That one appears to be the highest unpenalized score so far. But stay tuned for more action tomorrow in Texas, Oregon, and California. And some other places.
Sac regional had 3 matches of 180 with 12 in fouls , 177 with 4 in fouls and 176 with 4
in fouls. CVR had 181 with 24 in fouls.
SVR QF1-1 had 179 unpenalized Sunday after the PNW Champs. Also 168 in Q83 with 4 foul points.
The Israeli 191 points has the teleop cargo overcounted by 20 (I counted 47 and it might be off by a couple either way). That would make it 151 points corrected.
