2023 FIRST Global Challenge Reveal

The 2023 game, Hydrogen Horizons, has been revealed! Two regional alliances, each composed of three national teams, work to produce, store, transport, and convert hydrogen into different forms of usable energy before coming together as a global alliance to demonstrate each nation’s technical ability to use hydrogen as an energy carrier.

Teams have also started working on the New Technology Experience: Energy Evolution which guides teams in learning about all types of renewable energy, including hydrogen technologies, and the steps to create a clean energy future. FIRST Global teams will research and develop their own solutions to advance the implementation of and improve access to renewable energy.

The 2023 FIRST Global Challenge will be held in Singapore October 7-10, where teams from 190 nations will participate in a worldwide celebration of science, engineering, problem-solving, and international collaboration.

This looks like a really interesting game for FIRST Global! I think it is the most complex robot challenge they’ve had yet. The international collaboration needed to coordinate moving the Hydrogen Tanks and choosing when to stop collection and initiate conversion will be a great opportunity for the students. I can’t wait for the GSC assignments to come out!

Also, obligatory WATER GAME comment.
