Our 11th annual ROBOTICON FIRST Robotics Competition Off-Season featuring last season’s game, Charged Up! , will be held at Brooks-DeBartolo Collegiate High School in Tampa on October 7 & 8. Just a couple of miles from AMRoC Fab Lab, we’re holding the off-season at this great high school due to ongoing construction at our University Mall location.
As always, we’ll have an Alumni Social & Game Night, Career expo, workshops, and presentations.
The event will be free and open to the public, as well as live-streamed.
I was wondering what FMS this event will be using. Last year, the custom FMS that was used was riddled with bugs and safety issues, and I can’t recommend this offseason to a team without knowing that those issues are resolved.
Alumni are working on an improved version of the custom FMS, but we’ve all agreed we will only use it if it’s 100% reliable - and will make sure to have video confirmation of that reliability. If it’s not, we’ll be using FIRST FMS. We’ll confirm either way by the end of August. You can still register to hold a spot - no payment is due at registration - and then we’ll give all registered teams a full update at the end of the month.
