The Barker Redbacks (Team 4613) are happy to release our robot for the 2024 Season.

2024 Reveal

Also as a bonus, our very late 2023 10th anniversary reveal (we’ve decided not to post last year due to the earthquake that happened in Turkey just before we could attend our regional there)

Hello, I am the captain of 8308 Gflrobotics from Turkey, we thank you very much for your kind behaviour. Also your robot is very good, we wish you success.

Wow!!
Coolest bellypan/frame ever.
How long did it take to cut/mill that?

Thanks! It takes around 5 hours to cut our billet chassis

Another fantastic Barker Redbacks robot! Good luck this year!

Ok, but why? What advantages does this give you besides the obvious “it’s just dope”

(And I’m totally on board with “we did because we can and it’s cool”)

Chassis part count drops from >1 to 1, that seems advantageous! No need to worry about assembly tolerances either.

If you have a mill big enough, and the material stock, it would seem like wasted effort to build a lot of parts to assemble a drivetrain when you can just cut the thing out in one go.

Cool robot, by the way! Nice and simple (and light!). Is this a new build season completion speedrun record?

Curious what machine that chassis was cut on. Absolutely bonkers and I love it.

We would not do it just because is dope:

  • It is pretty much indestructible
So no concerns about high speeed collisions
  • you will never bend your swerve plates
  • bumpers now have a custom bracket as well so the gap to chassis is zero
  • all attachments to other systems now are slotted in so no variations trough competition
  • it makes autonomous more reliable since your robot is not wearing off during events due to constant high speed collisions
  • we are not the one disabling if we colide
  • this robot is built to zip around the field like crazy without our driver having any concern regarding robot survival

After checking out your machine at worlds last season I was curious if the chassis concept would be used again, and I’m happy to see it was. I appreciate the design choices on this one, should be robust and zippy!

Has a picture ever come out on their actual robot?

That looks to be a tiny bot as well

What’s the frame dimensions for that as it seems to be TINY and running modified mk4i

Looks amazing
