Hello guys. I need 2024 robot types. Can you describe 2024 robot
What do you mean by “type”? What are you looking for that you can’t find for yourself?
I’d check out statbotics, there are plenty of good robots there. Below I’ll highlight some of my favorites.
I think he means robot architectures
There are a couple general architectures
(Sorry to steal the photos from above)
There’s the 2056 style with a swing style shooter and a under the number intake
6328/4481 style with a large back pivot that feeds notes from a under bumper intake with a combined shooter/amp mechanism
1678/581 style with a fixed elevator for a amp/trap mechaism and a pivoting shooter with either intake style
254/2910/7157/6036 with a turret that is feed from a under the bumper intake
And then there’s whatever my team did…
Definitely the two teams who pioneered this architecture…
Don’t forget the “arm” architecture (essentially the unqualified quackas)
Also the everybot with a box climber and a the basic intake
thank you
I think kitbot was a very common archetype for 2024. Fixed angle launcher, intaking game pieces directly from the human player, not from the floor.
Quokka Ri3D-inspired bot may have been the 2nd most common archetype I saw at events, after kitbot. Over the bumper intake, rollers, feeding directly into an adjustable angle launcher.
High pivot, adjustable angle launcher with under bumper intake was an archetype I saw several times. My team’s robot fitting that criteria is below, and was inspired by 3467’s 2024 robot and the WCP CC design (as well as our own 2023 bot’s superstructure). I would include 4020, 5557, and 8515 as fitting this general structural archetype as well.
There’s also robots similar to 1678 but had their shooters attached to the elevator, I thought that Spectrum was that, but appears I am wrong. It was somewhat common, we used it.
yes, us (pictured), 5940, and 4476 ran it.
A similar archetype was created by 111, with the intake moving instead of the shooter. In Texas, 324 ran a similar archetype.
I personally think 2521 was the best robot on the big arm/qoukas concept, amazing autos, and a arm that didnt break down after use. our robot was definitely struggling for arm accuracy and reliability later in the season, sert was smart to offload the high climbing forces to dedicated climbers.
There’s also the high pivot shooter/amp mechanism with otb intake like the ones on 604/1778 (altho 604 included a one stage elevator with the pivot)
Don’t forget the low pivot shooter bots like 2974, 3663, 6443:
We (5427) ran something similar, except with a handoff similar to Cranberry Alarm. Definitely not the way to go due to complexities of feeding the note from the arm to a pivoting shooter.
Video of it in Action:
The moving intake was also used by 1325 in Ontario
Not many like ours (and probably for good reason).
Shooterless, wide-roller-intake on an arm (on a 1-stage-lift). Get game pieces from anywhere, Amp all match, then auto-Trap at the end.
This strategy worked great in Indiana, but not so much at Worlds (although it did get there!)
We had an architecture like that (3970)
Both 1076 and 7174 had pretty good success with this archetype as well, I think some of the best in Michigan although feel free to correct me on that
