Recap
Israel gets more spots! Also some team field prop dimension fixes. A note about the lack of Notes and rules about trying to gain RP through nefarious means.
Is the example struck through now allowed?
Got me wondering as well
The old example never did break any rules I don’t think
I think the change was in response to my question: FIRST FRC Q&A System
righhhht, thanks for submitting that question… the change in scenario makes me think:
The noodle (donut) agreement is back baybe!
FYI, the
The ReadMe document for TE-24200, V3 updates the length of TE-24211 in the example cut list from 56ÂĽ in. to 52â…ť in.
links to the wrong document in the Team Update 03 pdf. It links to the existing Team Version drawing for the SOURCE, while it should link to V3 of the Team Version drawing for the STAGE.
It’s generally a good reflection on the game design that updates this early in the season are so minimal, right?
Don’t jinx it please
Existing backorders will receive (up to) an additional 24 notes. New orders are still capped at 6 per team
@Andy_Baker is this the only additional order of Notes being made? AKA after we receive this shipment, will any additional shipments be coming in later in February?
For a lot of teams that are trying to play full matches with a full field of Notes, we’re wondering what the likelihood of having the rest of our order fulfilled is? Or if the remainder of the order will be cancelled and this is the last shipment of the season?
Now that you know how many teams have Notes on backorder, could the entire backorder QTY be purchased and airshipped?
Thanks,
-Mike
Looking at the change to the top of the speaker:
Old:
New:
This seems to just change the slope of the top of the speaker and not really affect the target zone. Do I see that correctly?
This was actually an error that I emailed FIRST about yesterday. The 25.5" measurement should be made from the right side of the piece, and is listed correctly higher up on the same page as well as on the previous page. It was just this third listing of the 25.5" measurement that erroneously got flipped to the left side of the piece.
They sneakily added a hyphen to disallow robots on the carpet qualifying for ONSTAGE points. I’m sad now.
Not only are there teams waiting on their backorder, but there are teams still with only 1 NOTE that haven’t yet been able to place any order at all.
Yes, this is also clearly an issue, especially for teams that use school PO processes to order anything. This has to be a very painful experience for those teams, of which there are 100’s, if not 1000’s.
These supply pressures cause all sorts of negative downstream effects on the program. I hope future season’s utilize additional methods to negate these impacts.
This is also why I’m confused that backordered QTY’s can’t be addressed in this shipment. If AM/FIRST already have a total # of backordered Notes, it seems straightforward (probably a bit pricey, but that’s the downside risk of not ordering enough to begin with) to also include that whole # in the next production run.

Only because its you, im going to “um actually” and give credit to some 8513 team dads who pointed it out to me on Sunday and got this Q&A in: FIRST FRC Q&A System
Sure would be nice if all regional winners got spots.
I want to applaud Gopher for getting a manufacturing run started so that teams can get their hands on brand new Notes in early February. We were hoping for March. They exceeded expectations for sure! Also, thanks to FIRST for helping us with this issue.
The main reason why we are still limiting the shipments of these large quantity orders is because the manufacturer is working to make and ship as many as they can before Chinese New Year. If the order was larger, then 3-4 weeks would have been added to the timeline, at least.
Now that this manufacturing run is in place and it’s planned to ship before Chinese New Year, I am asking about an additional order that will take care of off-season FRC events and also any back orders that don’t get filled with this order.
The top priority here is to make sure all teams get access to game pieces. Our second priority is to fill back orders. Our third priority is to get enough Notes for off-season events.
As we open for orders near Feb. 5th, many orders will be placed ASAP. If the demand dwindles, then we will fill back orders.
