TLDR
Robots, don’t touch the High Notes. Human Players only
And a dumb one IMO.
Only going to make the separation at the highest levels of the game even less.
Not sure about the justification, and I’m not saying they necessarily owe us one, but I hate this change.
Super huge, invalidates a lot of strategy analysis done thus far
Good change, will lead to increased scores.
Totally removes the decision point for bot 2 and 3 on what to do with their second amp cycles. It has to go to the amp now, leading to faster match cadence.
Solid update all around. Max of 4 game pieces in an amplified speaker makes for more cycling, which is a better game to watch.
Teams can deal with “only” 24 game pieces. Especially if it means other teams can have any game pieces.
So glad they changed this, it really is easy to lose track of time when driving
When we ordered 8 we thought that might’ve been too many. What are teams doing with 20+ Notes?
Hoarding notes near your speaker and then a barrage of game pieces while amplified would have been electric.
I would argue that robots driving from one end of the field to the other is the most boring aspect of any FRC game.
RIP hoarding strategy
I personally don’t like that the amplification last for 4 notes or 10 seconds, and I hope that changes for worlds because of how fast cycle times will be unless you can restart the amplification timer and scoring during the prior amplification.
Some teams may order enough notes for a full practice field.
Some teams host Week Zero practice events and supply a significant portion of the total gamepieces.
Well you need 9 notes to have them all staged properly on the field to practice autos + the preload.
One set of spares brings you up to 18.
Also some teams (like us) ordered a lot of game pieces because we host other teams and an unofficial week 0 so the plan was to have a half field worth (56) by then between us and other local teams. We were going to handle the bulk order of the pieces but now we are going to have to rely on the other teams placing slightly larger orders.
This… Love this
G426 *COACHES and other teams: hands off the controls. A ROBOT shall be operated only by the DRIVERS and/or HUMAN PLAYERS of that team. A COACH activating their E-Stop or A-Stop is the exception to this rule.
More confused by how the blue box relates, might be an email glitch
