These are the confirmed events so far from California. At Sunset Showdown it was confirmed there would be two new regionals in one NorCal and one in SoCal. I will update the list as events are confirmed.

My understanding is San Francisco is piloting the “no practice day” format.

Where are you finding the information that you are putting in this post? I can’t find anything on frc-events to support this table… if it’s not posted to firstinspires.org it’s not real yet…

Thanks! Sorry for the aggressive skepticism, I couldn’t find anything on the https://frc-events.firstinspires.org/ side of things and asked the question… now I know there’s two sets of event links :upside_down_face:

Always has been (at least for the last few years), and the Team and Event Search always updates first.

Looks like EBR will be a Thu-Sat event.

This is a change from last year (but a return to the event schedule of the old SVR if I’m remembering correctly?)

Anyhow, good to know . Still looking forward to seeing some week 1 and 2 events confirmed

I have on good authority that is we don’t make the proper sacrifices to the regional gods, SVR will be back at the same venue as last year

For Sac Regional, the Elk Grove spring break runs from March 15 to 23.

Where’s the rumor mill on events this season? It’s been relatively quiet.
Very interested in the new Regionals.

Round 1 selection opens in less than 3 weeks! I think all the CA events were all posted by around Sept 15th last year.

At Sunset Showdown it was announced there would be two new regionals a SoCal and. NorCal. From what I heard the NorCal one would be somewhere in the Bay Area and for the SoCal one im taking an educated guess thats its gonna more east possible around East Los Angeles or San Bernardino

My guess for the new SoCal event would actually be another regional in the San Diego venue week 5 or 6, since before the event moved to UCSD there were 2 regionals in the old fairgrounds venue.

You could be correct. I’m just guessing that Area because I feel like team East of Los Angeles don’t have a regional as close to some other teams. San Bernardino Feels like a good choice because its not to far North for San Diego Teams but is still accessible to East LA teams.

Oh, oh… and we can call it the Inland Empire Regional :wink:

We did CSUSB in 2013, Grand Terrace HS in 2014, and Rancho Mirage HS in 2015. All three venues had their challenges. There may be better venues now, a decade later and a lot more experience doing smaller footprint events in CA.

But I wouldn’t mind another go at it.

From a mentor email back in January…
“…will be exploring potential venues, ideally something east of LA, or possibly in the San Fernando Valley area.”
A lot may have changed since then though.
