Team 2041, Clemente High School in Chicago, made an appearance on PBS affiliate WTTW this past Wednesday evening. Team 2041 was part of the Silver medal alliance at the 2010 First Championship. You can view the eight minute segment here…
This video put a huge smile on my face. It’s great to see an amazing team like 2041 get some well deserved recognition.
“I think that’s a goal!”
“Let’s see if you can do that again!”
An example of the infectious spirit of FIRST.
Great job 2041!
Making a robot with literally 6 students and nearly winning the championship is the greatest recognition a team can get.
I had the opportunity to talk with 4 out of the 6 students along with the 3 engineers and the football coach turned FIRST mentor at the Wrap Party Saturday night in Atlanta. These students had MANY obstacles to overcome, some of which were envoirnmental and others that were administrative. If it were not for 3 young engineers wanting to give back and a motivated football coach that now is the most excited member of the team, there is no telling what sort of pitfalls these students would have fallen into.
Truly an inspiring story and one that I will be forwarding out to all of the school admins, Rosie kids and parents with story line of; “You think you’ve got it tough? Watch this.”
This is absolutely amazing… Almost everyone thought that they were going to take the gold… No one would of thought that you guys would of made it to Einstein… Congratulations on an amazing season, and maybe you will take it all at St. Louis next year.
