Southern Tier Robotics proudly presents our robot for the 2024 season, Bruin.
- Drivetrain
- SDS Mk4i L2 with 16t pinion (18.9 fps free speed, inverted motors to allow for note clearance).
- Vision-corrected odometry during auto and teleop using PhotonVision and an Orange Pi 5.
- One button press of the driver to automatically move us to our ideal shooting location and move in an arc at that distance.
- Intake
- Under the bumper intake so we can ram into notes full speed without worrying about breaking anything
- Capable of intaking from the front or back of the robot
- Shooter
- Side-by-side flywheel shooter powered by two Falcon 500’s.
- Optimized angle to shoot from the podium and amp-protected zones.
- Feeds into our “dunker”
- Dunker
- VERY fast amp scoring. It is a 4 bar that pivots in front of the shooter and slam dunks the notes into the amp, making sure they never bounce out
- Climber
- Two climbers in a box geared at 9:1 for a sub-2-second climb with ratcheting wrenches to ensure we stay up for those buzzer-beater climbs.
- custom hook geometry to insure we latch onto the chain and don’t slip.
We are extremely excited to be competing in Pittsburgh this coming weekend, as well as the Tech Valley Regional Week 4.
