2220x Omio CNC Machine not moving

Hey there!!

The CNC my team uses is not moving. The remote normally has a little red light that lights up whenever you press it, but it no longer lights up and henceforth the machine does not move. We tried changing the batteries twice to no avail.

When we upload and start a code it still plays, but we obviously cannot move the CNC to zero it and all.

Any advice would be much appreciated, thank you!

Can you move the axes using jog in Mach3? Make sure the USB receiver is plugged in properly and the computer is seeing it. Either that, or somewhere down the line a driver might not be behaving properly.

We can control the machine from the computer. If we input files, the machine would start moving, but since we hadn’t zeroed the machine it wouldn’t be right. Nothing on the remote works. Changed the batteries, still nothing.

There is a zeroing option on Mach3 right on the first screen you should be able to use. Did you update to a newer version of Windows or something that would cause the computer not to see the USB adapter for the remote?

AFAIK we haven’t changed the software since we got the machine a few years ago. I’ll have them try zeroing with the computer wednesday, next day we are in the shop. Is the USB adapter in a certain spot? I assume its like a wireless mouse where you have the mouse then a USB plugged into the machine/computer, but I don’t work with that machine so I wouldn’t know.

(oh and in case there are wired controllers, we have a wireless one)

I run the OMIO X8-2200L for my team, and it came with a USB adapter and a corresponding remote. If the software hasn’t changed, it’s probably something on the hardware end. The receiver might just need to be reseated or something.

Yup same thing. And yeah you should be able to run everything from the computer exactly the same as the remote. I don’t have mine in front of me but I almost never use the remote (though it is nice and convenient).

In the mean time, the arrow keys on the computer keyboard jog in X and Y, and Z is page up / page down. I believe you can also access increment jog modes from the Offsets screen using the buttons under the menu.

Auto tool zero, ref all home, and the zeroing buttons are all available on the main Program Run screen.

The remote is very nice to have, but it just duplicates commands that are included on the keyboard and screen.
