At the UTC Scrimmage two days ago, we managed to score in autonomous using timing only. Not being satisfied, we worked from 4:00 PM to 1:00 AM yesterday getting our camera and ultrasonic sensors to work. The results? Success:
Very impressive. I was so excited when you guys capped at WWZ in autonomous. Now all you need to do is score a vision tetra!
Have you tested with diamond plate spider feet? I have heard that the material makes them not echo poorly, which might be a problem. Your routine is pretty amazing, and I can’t wait to see what teams come up with by the end of the year.
There is diamond plate on the lower three legs, because that’s where our ultrasonic previously was mounted at, but we moved it after the scrimmage to track the bottom of the rack instead.
I believe that the bottom of the rack is diamond plate itself. If not, I’m going to have to edit my CAD model
When we had the ultrasonics (Yes, two) pointing at the lower legs, they worked fine, so we’re guessing it’ll work for the bottom as well. We were unable to find enough diamond plate for the bottom to actually test except what we already used on the rack
