Here is the raw machining footage (not speed up) from episode 2. It’s not the best video because coolant is splashing at the camera the whole time.

Every time I see another Brother machine…I want a Brother machine. Curious to know what else you looked at before bringing that to your garage. I haven’t looked at them enough to know if single phase power will work or if you need a rotary.

Hey Ronnie. I considered a few different machines before going with the Brother. A big constraint was that it needed to fit under the garage door and work with the lower ceiling height. This ruled out a lot of typical machines such as any HAAS VF series etc… Compared to a super mini mill 2 or DT-1, the footprint is about the same size, but to me the Speedio was worth the small price difference. The Brother machines are not as expensive as a lot of people think and Yamazen has a good reputation for support.

I’m not aware of any single phase machines in this class. Now days a lot of people are using digital phase convertors as opposed to rotaries. Phase Perfect has a good reputation.
