Mike,

Thanks for the support of FRC. Looking to get a 2CAN unit to help our battles of troubleshooting crappy serial cables and computers with no serial ports. I saw that both you and AndyMark are out of units. Any word on when you’ll have more in stock?

Which firmware should we be using at this point? We had ver. 2.5 running on the 1st gen board, and it seemed to work. That was until we tried updating the firmware - sent it into the bootloader. After that, I reflashed it with the 2.21 firmware, hooked it up to a second Jag, and that one also went to bootloader saying it had a timeout. Eventually, I just gave up and flashed them with BDC-Comm.

Trying to load the code, on the reboot, it seemed to hang again as the system was up, but the code would not load until a physical hard reset was done. I remember seeing this issue last year, but thought it was taken care of with an .out file update… Is there any update to that too? I can verify if that is what is happening tomorrow for sure (I didn’t have a serial cable hooked up to see where it was hanging)

I hooked up the hyperterminal today, and I did verify that the plugin was hanging on shutdown. It wasn’t a permanent hang, although it took a good 3 minutes for the system to actually shut down and proceed with the reboot. The output looks like:

[SYSTEM MESSAGE] System is Shutting Down…
Unloading startup library FRC_2CANPlugIn
FRC_2CANPlugIn_StartupLibraryCleanup() - SVN revision 72

I’m sorry if I sound like I am complaining, it really is just a minor inconvenience, but at the same time, if code has to change right before we go onto the field… D:

The latest version of 2CAN firmware can be found at:

Version 2.24 fixes a bug in the SPI hardware test that occasionally causes the hardware test to fail resulting in a red/orange LED.

Also a bug in the Jaguar firmware update tool that would cause the firmware upload to fail on some machines has been fixed.
