2X2 foam tiles by Andymark and VEX are the same?

Hi,
We want to procure the 2X2 foam tiles, used in FTC competition playfield. It has been out of stock on Andy mark since quite long. I am intending to buy it from Vex, which is similar. Does anyone know / can help us know if both of them are same? We need it on a little urgent basis so cannot wait until 22nd November (when it comes back in stock on the Andymark website).

There are some minor differences, but its pretty much identical for most purposes. I’d recommend getting official tiles when they are back in stock if you can, but vex tiles should be fine until then.

Harbor freight also has cheap 2x2 tiles if you want something until Andymark comes back in stock.

OP’s FTC team number points to Mumbai, India, so that might be a heck of a plane ticket to get to a Harbor Freight no matter how good the coupon is.

But for US-based teams, yeah I cosign the Harbor Freight mats as the right combination of “reasonably comparable behavior” and “dirt cheap”.

The official AndyMark soft tiles cleared customs much faster than expected and are now in stock. We are also now offering a half field (18) quantity to give an intermediate quantity discount level between (4) and (36).
