2 Bonus points to the first person to tell me what the Battery contraversy was in 1996.

This was one of the years when FIRST was responsible for charging batteries for all the teams. I think they ended up with a huge backlog, leaving certain teams without batteries for matches.

Close but not quite!

People were being given uncharged batteries cause FIRST couldn’t charge them fast enough…

I also recall a team who was using double the batteries on their robot… and no one at FIRST noticed during inspection or anything…

Today’s answers…

  1. 25 Points

  2. 70 lbs

  3. Milwaukee Cordless Drill Batteries

The contraversy was over those silly Grey tabbed batteries. Some teams were using them instead of the black tabbed batteries…it was found that the Grey tabbed batteries had more of an advantage to them.

There were similar batteries with a grey logo which were almost twice the power of the standard milwakees. Some teams snuck them in during matches.
