My big offseason project for my team was to create a custom swerve for the 2024 season here it is. The CAD is somewhat messy currently but I plan to publish more after the season. Here is the Onshape link to comply with R303.https://cad.onshape.com/documents/21fc254740c83bf1d94e2e94/w/5d134c25e4b5025459b6ccae/e/038bc9e7a870875318638b04?renderMode=0&uiState=6599871bc2c95344c0f80383
Nice take on the dualy swerve, cool to see it in the wild, The 90 degree plate is a cool touch on packaging.
Maybe not completely wild, I think there was some collaboration involved. Kalamazoo isn’t far from St. Joe.
I’ve always admired Stryke Force swerve, both its construction and operation. So have many other Average Joes students and mentors over the years. Glad to see the current generation of students taking this step toward the sincerest form of flattery.
I was fortunate to see a few iterations and see some other teams pick it up.
Lot fewer moving parts than a lot of stuff out there and flexibility in where motors are placed (as you proved) - something no current COTS solution really offers, so it will be interesting if that comes into play at some point.
Excited to see if/where you go with it this season.
That was a big pull to this variation of Stryke Force’s serve was that you have pretty much full control of the motor placement and gear ratios along with the fact that it uses mostly in-house-made parts. As Richard mentioned and in my hurry to post before the kickoff I forgot to thank Stryke Force and @Sam_Dare for all the help through our build which likely wouldn’t have happened without them.
