3D Printable Cube Jig

As there already seem to be a few requests for one- here is my design for a simple 3D printable cube jig.

It should be heavily noted this is not intended to be weight accurate to the official cube jig, however, it is a functional alternative.

Note: I recommend having a build plate of at least 256mm x 256mm. I was just barely able to fit each half piece on my Bambulab x1.

OnShape CAD Model

Hardware

  • 4x 1/4-20 x 1.75in Bolt
  • 4x 1/4-20 x 0.85in Bolt
  • 8x 1/4-20 Nut

Enjoy!

This is cool. It would be really great if there was a way to fit it on a 220x220 build plate. I’m not at a computer today. Will it fit?

I highly doubt it will. Here is how I had to rotate it to fit on a 256 plate.

I just modified the jig parts so that it can be fit onto any 210mm+ printer, and can either be bolted together or CA glued/epoxied. See the layout below (parts are symmetrical so make 2 copies of each). Does anyone know the official weight? I will print with a specific infill % to account for that, but can’t find the exact weight posted anywhere.
Note: the holes are slightly offset (0.01 in) to account for printer dimensional expansion tolerance. I am printing this now so I will share results when it’s done

20 oz, if you check the official drawing. (Not team build, it’s the last few pages of the official field Season Specific drawing package.)

For my model, in onshape it estimates it to be 1.65lbs/26.4oz (100% solid pla + hardware)- I’m guessing with 4 walls and 15% infill, once hardware is added it would be around 20oz. Still yet to be determined however. Im guessing yours will be similar weighted.

Thanks, so this still needs hardware even with 100% infill. I’m getting 6.5oz with 2 outer layers, 20% infill in my Cura estimates

Here is my version. PETG 15% infill with pennies for calibrated ballast.
