3D Printable FIRST Pride Pins

Hey all,

I’ve been printing a bunch of various FIRST pride pins to give away at competitions and uploaded them publicly so other teams can use the design. Note that the logo is slightly modified for printing appearance reasons.

The gradient ones specifically work really cool, they are slightly sloped so any printer can be used to make multicolor looking prints without specifically needing a color changing printer. This also has the side effect of helping make smooth color transitions, as one layer of yellow over orange appears to be a light tangerine color.

I’ve also made 2 other files, one where it’s the logo design without the slant, and then that design with a BLM fist design cut into it. Pins were epoxied to the back, more info on the file’s link.

Please let me know if you have any questions/concerns, and have a great season everybody!

I think this is great, but the FIRST branding guidelines does pretty much strictly forbid modifying their logo like that without their permission. Something you might want to pay attention to.

It’s not any more against the branding guidelines than the logo that FIRST themselves used for this past pride month.

@devyntk - I was thinking the same thing! @scubadiv3r, this is such a cool concept and I love the tie-in from FIRST’s posts about celebrating Pride Month - Pride Month | FIRST

As the holder of the rights to the logo they can do whatever they want.

As someone being granted the right to use their logo under specific guidelines we cannot.

Do I think hq would crack down on this? Probably not. Would it maybe be a good conversation to start and ask? Probably.
