In 2020 i made the first revision of my print in place 0.5in hex collar. and in the last few months i have decided to revisit this concept and improve it further.
So i made the banana collar!
This revision greatly improves the holding force of the collar while reducing the wear of the printed part in operation!

I love the idea of single part hex collars and always wanted to try the older version but I didn’t have time to print it. What loads can it hold? Did you ever test it to its maximum capabilities?
I have not tested the holding force with a scale, but from handeling it and trying to move it i think that it has enough force for prototypes, and maybe even some final robot parts in the right places.
Just printed one on a mark forge out of onyx. It works very nice. You can slide it by hand with some force but I think this version will hold up much better then the last.
Banana for scale?
