!!!3D Robot Models Wanted!!!

If anybody wants to have their teams robot in the FIRST Video Game, can they please send me the 3D model and robot stats (speeds and torque of base and all mechanisms, traction of wheels, ease of climbing 6-inch ledge) at [email protected]

the reason i am posting this in the general forum is that it is a call to everyone, and not just those helping with the FVG.

And additional contact info would be good, but not necessary.

Also, we will need info on your control system and maybe your program.

Please contact Texan or (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/member.php?userid=5957) about programming stuff, and HHSJosh about 3D/CAD stuff.

I can be contacted about the 3D/CAD Models through PM or Email.

What format do you want the robot models in? 3D Studio Max? autocad? .x?

3DSMax, I think… (Right?)

But, if it’s in Inventor, I might be able to find some utilty to convert it.

Huh??? What do you mean by FIRST Robotics Video game???
ConFuSeD!
There’s gonna be a FRC video game and no one’s told us about it??? (for PC or what?) my boss will be hearing from me…

the FIRST Video Game project was started bring FIRST to the world of electronic gaming. the game we are makign is called “FIRST: Ultimate Robot Challenge”. it will spread the word of FIRST and allow everyone to experience some of the thrill of the competition from their own homes. check out the links in my signature to find out more.

We’ve been talking about it all summer! We’ve even got our own forums
(abbreviated FVG (FIRST Video Game), FURC (FIRST Ultimate Robot Challenge), or just URC (Ultimate Robot Challenge))

well, wouldnt the robot models have to be in exact realistic units to show up right? scaling them wont work either, it just makes them appear smaller

If it’s in proportion with itself, scaling will work fine. It’s when you have mis-proportioned models that you have trouble.

Are you looking for any kind of polygon count restriction? Or are you just using these for reference as you model your own low-poly versions?

we will try to use the original models, but if they are too high-poly, we can “cut some corners”

If there are too many polys in it for our uses, I can remodel them with lower poly counts.
