That’s insane, especially due to the collaborative nature of the RP that year. Do you know if 254 helped alliance partners with a line crossing autos? You’d think every team would be able to do it, but as a freshman programmer in 2018 I can say for certain that’s not necessarily the case…

Having our software students reach out to partners early to see if they need any assistance with their autos has been standard operating procedure for us for years.

Makes sense. With only 3 students at last week’s event and 4 at this week’s, it’d be difficult to get the manpower to do that, but if you can do it then that’s fantastic, another great way to help lower the floor for teams.
(I think the term you are looking for is either lower the barriers for entry or raise the ceiling of competition 
)
