Just wanted to create a thread for all of the 400+ point matches. This first one is QF 2-1 at the Georgian (jor-jun for the folks at FUN) College District Event in Ontario. 2013 and alliance partners 4001 and 4783. We hung 7 gears and 4001 hung 5 to give us the 4 rotors in elims. The 7th gear fell off so the driver threw it on and did a tarzan climb in the last 2 seconds of the match. Total score without penalty 440.
The #4 alliance was able to pull it off in 5 of our playoff matches at the Glacier Peak event. In my opinion, even more impressively, the #2 alliance got it 3 times and twice with two rotor autos, including an epic match with both the #2 and #3 alliance getting the two rotor auton.
Number 3 alliance of 1922, 2370, 716 did it in semi-finals 2 scoring 450 points which also happened ed to be the high score of the event
1425, 4488, 6445. 403 excluding penalties.
Here are all of the 400+ scoring alliances and matches so far. We’re looking at 155 alliances who have scored 400+ with 18 occurring in qualification matches at 137 occurring in elimination matches.

#8 Alliance at FIM Lansing got 445 four matches in a row.
At Colorado, it happened twice. First the alliance of 4388, 399, and 1339 put up 400 points during QF 4-2, then 1619, 1011, and 3648 put up 415 in Finals 2.
Almost all of the semi-final and final matches at the Wisconsin Regional were above 400 points. Almost all of them were 4 rotors 3 climbers on both sides if I’m not mistaken.
ILITE Team 1885 & SPARKY Team 384 hit 400 + @ CHS Central VA Q1-1, S1-2 & F4. SPARKY also scored 420 @ CHS Central VA Q67 4 rotors but had major penalties adding to the score
Huh? Only QF 1-1. 1-2. and 2-1 were above 400 points! And those were also the only playoff matches with 4 rotors.
Here’s the TBA page which shows all the scores: https://www.thebluealliance.com/event/2017wimi

PNW on the radar.
Woops I guess you’re correct there. I think the excitement of the regional (It was my first one I’ve gone too) kinda screwed with my memory and inflated the scores a little bit. The first 3 quarterfinals were above 400, I might be thinking of those too.
You guys definitely deserve some attention too, your alliance really had the four rotor rhythm (say that four times fast).
The craziest thing to me is that 4911, 3663, and 5495 were only one gear and a broken rope behind us and they had scored a FUEL in auto. We were close to coming up short 466-465. :ahh:
We had an argument on Friday about how crazy hard a 2 rotor auto was, so to actually have it happen to us, twice, was a little (very) surreal. We expect to see a lot more 2 rotor autos and 4 rotor teleops in Cheney next weekend!
At the Wisconsin Regional in Quarterfinals match 5, the number 1 alliance did not score 400. From what I understand, there was an error with the red airship counting 4 rotors from movement of the pilots and not from having the correct amount of gears. I think this has something to do with why the pre-populated gears in the airship have been moved in team update 19 this week. As you can see the red alliance is given the points for the 4 rotors and the bonus however they are clearly about 5 gears shy at the end of the match from the fourth rotor. In quarterfinal match 1 they did achieve all 4 rotors and this alliance had the offensive firepower to do it many times over.
It was awesome to see how those semifinals played out. Each alliance was assembled with different strategies in mind:
- Alliance 1: 3 rotors; aggressive defense; high volume fuel scoring to break ties in rotors/climbs.
- Alliance 2: 4 rotors; good chance of 2 rotor auton to break ties in rotors/climbs.
- Alliance 3: A truly balanced alliance. OK chance of 4 rotors and 2 rotor auton, with fuel scoring mixed in as well to cover all bases.
- Alliance 4: Get to 4 rotors as fast as robotly possible.
The best thing about this is that the results weren’t even conclusive as to which composition/strategy was the best. 1294 and 3070 had some issues that prevented them from playing to the best of their ability in the finals matches, and the 1 alliance’s best gear placer 5803 had a stuck gear in Semis 1. 1 almost beat 4 in their second match with fuel tiebreakers, but we got the 4th rotor with just 10 seconds to spare. Add in the craziness with the #2v#3 semis, and we have ourselves a crazy tournament. In my view, it was a true preview of PNW Champs.
I put together some interesting data on this.

Thanks for the data crunching, Clayton! Something doesn’t seem right though. 1987-3528-5809 didn’t compete at Granite State, for instance. All of the events seem to be wrong.
Of the 18 playoff matches at the Israel District Championship (i.e. 36 attempts), 12 alliances got 400+ points. One of those matches was over 500 points!
derp…fixed!
