You guys always have an incredibly accurate shooter. If memory serves, at Queen City last year you guys did not use vision and had a scope-like system? Are you using vision this year? What is the shooter geared at in the Versaplanetary?

Thanks for the kind words! Setting aside getting the fuel into the shooter, we are using two 775 pros at 3:1 for the shooter itself.
Indeed again we are using a combination of computer vision processing and human cameras for aiming our shooter this year. At our regionals, we were using vision to aim in auton and using another ‘reticle’ type solution for distance and aiming in teleop. You can check out what our drivers use on the dashboard at 1:10 in the video. The driver centers the boiler in between the two uprights for aim and uses the horizontal hash marks to determine distance from the boiler and adjust the shot accordingly.
This was, as you might imagine, a relatively slow process to line up a shot. So, we have an upgrade that we will be implementing in St. Louis that will handle both distance and aiming with vision. It is lightning-fast and very accurate, so we
expect a huge reduction in our fuel cycle time.
