4087 Falcon Robotics 2020 - Aluminium Falcon

I’m proud to present the current state of FRC 4087’s machine for Infinite Recharge - Aluminium Falcon. This is by far the most complex robot we’ve ever built and represents a lot of firsts for our team including our first custom chassis, first flywheel shooter, and first turret. None of this would have been possible without our new Omio X8, a wonderful vendor ecosystem, and our incredibly generous sponsors.

Some subsystem details:

Chassis
8WD WCD
6" pneumatic tires
2-speed ball shifters, 4 NEOs
Blaster

Superstructure
Modular - attaches to chassis with 8 bolts
Wiring harnesses allow for quick removal and mechanism iteration

Blaster
4" 60A WCP flywheel
2 NEOs @ 1:1
Fixed hood
GreyT Turret
Limelight and LIDAR

Loading Bay
3 NEO 550s
1.25 Aluminum tubing with surgical tubing
1’’ urethane flat belting

Docking Port
1 NEO 550
Everybot-inspired linear elevator
Custom gearbox with integrated pneumatic friction brake (allows for retry of missed grab)

The irony is not lost on me
We invested heavily in the Rev ecosystem during the off-season and chose to delay a foray into yet another new system, especially in its debut.
